Well, the final shot of her had her dress in pink.
I guess this makes up for the fact that it's blue most of the time.
Maybe they should have just compromised and made it purple or lavender.
That might have been good for the movie, if they had chosen to do that, although personally I prefer the conflict to continue indefinitely.
But as for the character's current image and merchandise, I'd have to disagree because purple is not associated with Aurora--I'd rather choose between colors that are actually used in the movie than use a color that is not in the movie (in association with Aurora), even though it is a combination.
Besides, at this point Rapunzel has claimed purple/lavender anyway. Not only does she wear this color through nearly the entire movie (and the whole time that she is a teenager and adult), it is fittingly (and probably not accidentally) the color of the real "rapunzel" flower:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campanula_rapunculusBy the way, the magical flower in the movie is actually based on the stargazer lily, probably because it looks more spectacular (and Rapunzel happens to be a stargazer, too), although if you look carefully it has features of the rapunzel flower incorporated into its design. But I digress.
