Mitchum looks like a tired, sluggish, goofy oaf. Not scary.

Sorry guys. Remake light years better.

Oh and Gregory Peck,Martin Balsalm and Telly Savalas great as usual. Score was masterful and direction was strong.

Too bad they couldn't find a good actor to play Cady.

I thought he was scary, in the way he was shady as hell and could legally terrorize someone, always keeping his cool with the underlying threat of ultra-violence

Sorry guy, you're wrong.

Too bad you missed a great performance by Mitchum.

You wrong, boy. DeNiro looked like a shrimp compared to Mitchum. Mitchum was understated; DeNiro was way over the top. Mitchum was cool; DeNiro was weird. Both were scary, but DeNiro was totally crazy, while Mitchum was just revenge- motivated. Mitchum was sexy; DeNiro was like a neuter from another planet.

Of course, De Niro is a fine actor. But I thought he was over the top in the remake. I thought the original was superior and Mitchum was superior in the role.
