Mitchum looks like a tired, sluggish, goofy oaf. Not scary.

Sorry guys. Remake light years better.

Oh and Gregory Peck,Martin Balsalm and Telly Savalas great as usual. Score was masterful and direction was strong.

Too bad they couldn't find a good actor to play Cady.

Bob De Niro is a bad man.

Bob Mitchum is a bad, bad, very bad man.

I'm no expert, but . . . .

Mitchum scared me in ways that De Niro never could.

You're right, they found a great actor to play Cady.

I'm happiest...in the saddle.

Mitchum gave a fantastic performance. He was convincing as Cady, even in moments where he doesn't speak, showing the power within Mitchum's performance.

I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not.

The OP just threw a little chum in the water to get everyone excited.

Agree. There's always one. Who disagrees with almost everyone. RM was perfect. Checkout the trivia pg. for the other actors considered.

Man, I couldn't disagree with you more. Mitchum was great. His Cady was suave, but also obnoxious and evil in a realistic way. And I'm sorry, but Peck is never great. He was wooden as always, although in this role I guess that worked for the most part.

Funny you say all that about Mitchum, but compliment Peck on his performance. Star and producer, Peck, actually credited most of the movie's success to Mitchum for making it possible.

Not saying you should change your mind. Just thought it was funny, lol.
