If you could make one change to the film, what would it be? *spoilers*

For me, that's easy. I'd keep Roger in the film for longer. I can tolerate the character being killed off, though I don't like it. I just hate where it happens in the film. I'd have it that Roger gets his leg broken during the moving of the trucks (The zombie latches on, he tells Peter to drive, and the zombie pulls down, busting his leg before letting go. This way, the scenes later where he's in the gardening cart could be left in.)

He could have a bum leg but still assist in the sealing of the mall, then get bitten or killed during the crossfire.

Or Hell, he could survive the whole movie. Either or, but I'd definitely like to keep him in the film until the motorcycle raiders show up.

For the other fans, what's the change you would make, if you could change one aspect of the film?

I love to love my Lisa.

I'd also have Roger live longer, either have him die fighting the bikers near the end or maybe he could live and escape with Peter and Francine.

I'd also include more scenes of what's going on outside the mall, kind of like the stuff at the beginning where the SWAT Team raid the apartment complex or when the rednecks were helping the military shoot zombies in the rural areas. Maybe also have some more scenes of the TV broadcasts as well.

Reduce the corny/campy elements and raise the bar on the seriousness. This is a great movie that, IMO, hurt itself with the funny business. I like many horror/comedies but this one would have been better served without the satire and dumb parts.

This is a great thread. Dawn of the Dead is one of my favourite and most-thought-about-films. Sometimes, while walking the dog in the middle of nowhere, I'll put on the Trunk Records soundtrack and scare myself to death, as if in the Pennsylvania countryside as glimpsed from Flyboy's helicopter...

I have a scenario I'd like to experiment with. One of the main traits of the Zombie Apocalypse genre is that mankind _will not_ work together, even in the face of absolute global doom. You could argue that's the main plot of The Walking Dead even moreso than the zombies themselves. To that end, I'd like to see a point towards the end of the film where, say, Peter has shot himself with his tiny gun, and Flyboy's zombie is attacking Francine -- and she is saved, on a whim, by Tom Savini's biker king. Because how cool was it in Pulp Fiction when Butch and Marcellus, two bitter, irreconcilable enemies joined forces in the middle of a crisis, just on a whim?
