For a low budget B movie, this was great sci-fi...

There is a lot of bang for your buck here. The director who also plays the lead role as NEWMAN is really good and believable. I liked the narration throughout the movie. The story was very cool sci-fi. I'm really glad I found this lost gem. The IMDB rating of 4.2 is tragic as idiots obviously rating it thinking they are watching a movie with 300 million budget. For what this is, I rated it a solid 6 and look forward to watching it again for a second time.

Iโ€™ve never seen this one but Iโ€™m adding it to my list! ๐Ÿ‘

Iโ€™m starting it now and Sid Haig is in it! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

It's not actually good... But I do love it. And it has a score by John Morgan that is the best imitation Bernard Herrmann (Think Mysterious Island) I have ever heard.
Forrest J. Ackerman has a role in it too. And I think Jim Danforth appears briefly, having contributed some sfx... The spaceship footage, which was not that great, nevertheless appears in a number of other low budget films thereafter.

I just finished it and your right, itโ€™s not good but damn it has heart. I swear some of those gunfights in the end were filmed with live ammo. Sid Haig was criminally under used in this.

Newman was more of a bad ass than I could have expected.

I'm glad you kinda enjoyed it. You are right, it had a lot of heart. The director Steve Barkett only directed one more movie called "Empire of the Dark". I found it on youtube. I'll watch it soon and report back.

I just watched it this morning and I canโ€™t believe he waited so many years to do another and then stopped at two!

NEWMAN did it again...well he wasn't NEWMAN in "Empire of the Dark", but another very solid movie. I wish he would have made more. He's a good character and he pretty much did everything in making his movies. I liked THE AFTERMATH a little more because of the space sci-fi angle, but I highly recommend both.

I was wishing his name Newman in Empire of the Dark also! Chuck Norris finally has a worthy competitor! Wait a minute, screw that. He is a notch above Norris and is on the Reb Brown level now.
