Anyone else who loved it but thought it is SEXIST?

Nobody else thought this was one of the sexiest films ever made with overtones of racism against the homeless & some slighter overtones of homophobia? Or noone cares?

Don't get me wrong. I finally got to see this cult film I had read so much about yesterday. usually, with such a case , you might expect too much, and so you might be disappointed. Not me! I totally enjoyed STREET TRASH! It was fresher, funnier & more original than I would ever expect... It is a film to be seen and remembered for the guts and originality... but...

I read quite a lot of reviews & messageboerd stuff. Its quite normal that girls dont watch splatters, certainly not this one, but nevertheless, NOBODY bothered to mention how utterly sexist this film is? I was not offended, I repeat, I loved every second of it, it is unique, but...

PS: I have seen a great deal of worlds extremest films... many horror/splatter/weird have sexist scenes or attitudes, but nowhere as bold as this one...

aCCept me for what I am / or piss off!
extravaganza, extreme, weird, *beep* :)

I'm not a prude of anything, it's just that hobos don't really do it for me.

Hell yeah...sexiest film ever...those bums are hawt!

Question: Did you ever hurt yourself to make somebody sorry?

So I guess I am the only pervert who actually love the film, but thought about writing it is racist, even as a remark...

thanx for taking the time :)

Well I'm female and I didn't find Street Trash sexist or racist at all, it was just full of over-the-top stereoptypes from the Italian gangster to the crazy Vietnam Vet to the hard-ass Cop to the assorted Winos etc...great fun.

sure great fun! i didn't say. it's quite interesting you're a female. have you ever seen NEW YORK RIPPER OF LUCIO FULCI, also a film accused of misogyny and sexism?? I 'd love to find out more about you [that is to say, which female character would take pleasure in such films!] - because what I might imagine is not the real deal ;)

I repeat: I love political inocorrectness both in life + films and art and everything. Acting out racism is another thing, though....

Skimming through some post of yours intrigue me more. you are vegan, huh? why? i also love motel hell TCM2, am a huge fan o Buttgereit etc.

Yes I love New York Ripper, along with most of Fulci's other films. I was lucky enough to meet him in London a few months before he died and spent several hours with him and his entourage at an Italian Horror Festival. Send me a personal message if you want to talk more, I'll be happy to chat to you :)

What part of this film was the sexiest? When the junkyard manager has sex with the corpse of a gang-rape victim?

I like to think Cytherea is out there, squirting from her vagina for all of us sinners.

reply

I thought bill the cop was sexy

hey, you're dead man...you're dead and you're gonna turn into one of those things out there!

reply

That upside-down pussy was pretty god damned sexy.

Yes it was sexist, and there was a racial slur here and there.
I don't think anything in this movie was to be taken seriously, though.
Besides, I'm pretty sure the target was white males.

reply

Keep in mind that almost every character in the movie is despicable.
