Anyone else who loved it but thought it is SEXIST?

Nobody else thought this was one of the sexiest films ever made with overtones of racism against the homeless & some slighter overtones of homophobia? Or noone cares?

Don't get me wrong. I finally got to see this cult film I had read so much about yesterday. usually, with such a case , you might expect too much, and so you might be disappointed. Not me! I totally enjoyed STREET TRASH! It was fresher, funnier & more original than I would ever expect... It is a film to be seen and remembered for the guts and originality... but...

I read quite a lot of reviews & messageboerd stuff. Its quite normal that girls dont watch splatters, certainly not this one, but nevertheless, NOBODY bothered to mention how utterly sexist this film is? I was not offended, I repeat, I loved every second of it, it is unique, but...

PS: I have seen a great deal of worlds extremest films... many horror/splatter/weird have sexist scenes or attitudes, but nowhere as bold as this one...

aCCept me for what I am / or piss off!
extravaganza, extreme, weird, *beep* :)

I know where you're coming from. There is definitely a misogynistic vibe - with the decapitated guy looking up the girl's skirt, the fat guy sexually harassing the Asian girl, the rape and necrophilia scenes (and the "hero" that doesn't seem to care), the villain's gross homeless "wife", etc. - but I don't think the film is explicitly against women, I think it's just supposed to draw attention to how gross and immoral most of the male characters are. The Asian girl is pretty much one of the only likeable characters in the movie, I think that shows the film isn't intentionally anti-woman or racist.

OF COURSE it's sexist!

After I had read the script, writer Roy Frumkes told me, "I tried to insult every group I could think of. Did I miss any?"

"What's the difference between you and a tape recorder except that I can't shut you off!"

One of the finest recommendations for a movie I've ever seen.
