How old where you when you first watched Jurassic Park?

And how do you feel when watching it again?

I was 7.

For me, I still feel that nostalgic wonder when watching Jurassic Park as an adult. At least now, I get to see it without peeking from between my fingers and I finally understand some of the jokes, conversations and plot complexities.

Just thought I'd ask because I just watched Jurassic World and saw a bunch of kids who were my age when I first watched this, and I wondered how they'd feel if they watched JW again in the next decade or so. I'm just a bit disturbed because this one was far more violent than the first movie. Then again, these kids might be more desynthesized to violence than I was back in the day.

I was 5, born the year it released (I watched it on VHS). It remains one of my favourite films and after watching Jurassic World, I decided to revisit the original.

It holds up so well (I already knew this, I've seen it a hundred times) and I have a new found respect for the way they portray the dinosaurs as animals with curiosity and behaviours based on modern day wildlife. I also feel the same way about the people; Grant, Ellie, even Malcolm look and act like regular people and lack that movie star invincibility.

I really enjoyed Jurassic World as a meta action thriller but the dinosaurs lack the sense of threat they had in the original and nothing is as intense as the jeep or kitchen scene. Heck, the Indomnius (?) Rex acts more like a monster, smashing cars because they're in the way of the people it just has to kill (compared to the T-Rex playfully interacting with the jeep or the raptors and their intrigue at the kitchen utensils).

I saw it in theaters when I was 5, shortly before my 6th birthday. I really enjoyed the film back then, and I still enjoy it now.

I was almost 10 when JP was released and I tried to see it opening weekend with my family, but there was a line stretching around the block, and they sold out of tickets so we went back a week or two later and saw it. To this day, one of the best experiences I've had at the movies. I went back and saw it again a couple days later. In fact, I've seen all the JP films at the theater. It was a nice bit of nostalgia seeing JW in theaters a couple days ago. It wasn't as amazing of an experience as the first one, but still had a good time. Crazy to think it's been almost 15 years since I last saw a JP movie in theaters. Great, now I feel old.

I was 4 when it came out, but I watched it on TV a few years later... like 1996, when I was 7-8.

I was 29 in 1993 and saw it in the theater. (For reference I also saw "Star Wars" and a couple of the original Planet of the Apes films in their first theatrical run!) I loved JP, I was so caught up in it I remember when Lexie was pulled up into the ceiling tiles and the raptor snapped at her I instinctively pulled my legs up off the floor I was so into it!

I just turned 7, my dad took me to see it at the theater. It was my first PG-13 movie. I remember that I loved it and the scariest part for me was "where's the goat"?!

Boy I just realized that when I was 7 we didn't have a lot of family fare available to us besides Disney! The 70's was full of some pretty heavy cinema, M*A*S*H, The French Connection, etc.

I saw it when I was eight in the theater.

I haven't watched it in years, but may need to rectify that before I go see Jurassic World.
