Is This The Best Music Film of All Time?

I would have to say yes, with "The Doors" (1991) coming in at a close second.
This is simply an underrated and amazing film; definitely a fun feel-good film to watch. I loved all the characters, and I'm sure every straight male who watches this will instantly fall in love with Penny Lane, what a dream woman!

You guys have to recommend to me some more music type films, because I don't know of very many. Any other films similar to this?

I would say so.
It's the best movie about rock and roll that isn't a documentary, bio-pic, or fictionalized depiction (like A Hard Day's Night).

Or maybe it still holds that title with those categories included. It's just such a great movie.

-'What do you look for in another human being?'
-'Stone Cold Steve Austin...'

I would say it's among the best music films of all time. Right there with "The Doors", "Amadeus", "Walk The Line" and "Velvet Goldmine", the last one being an underrated gem.

What counts as a music film?

I think Elvis’s “Jailhouse Rock” is the best music film, but I know we’re going back to the 1950s for this one.

I also recommend Love & Mercy (2015) if you like Almost Famous and The Doors. It’s about Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys during the time when they made Pet Sounds and Smile in the 1960s and then later in the 1980s when Brian was going through his abusive psychological treatment.

Love & Mercy was quality.

For new wave fans (like me), 24 Hour Party People (2002) is the cream of the crop when it comes to films about music.

Hustle and flow

Anyone who likes this film might like the obscure "The Perfect Age of Rock 'n' Roll" (2009): https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1242548/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

I favor it over "Almost Famous," although it's a close call. It's more serious and darker.

I gotta go with Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story. Great film in my view...

The Doors was very good too and so was the new Elvis film. I liked AF as well.
