worst film to ever win best picture

it won best picture over FOUR far superior films (Gangs of NY, the hours, the pianist, LOTR)

Chicago is definitly a terible movie that did not deserve best picture.
It definitly is in my Top 5 films that won best picture and didnt deserve it.

But Crash is most definitly #1 in that regard.

You're really wrong. The Greatest show on Earth is by far the worst winner ever. Not only there were better films (High Noon, The Quiet Man) but also as a film alone it was pure trash. I can't believe that Jimmy Stewart was part of this.

This is - excuse me - a damn fine cup of coffee.

I don’t agree. Then again a lot of people don’t ever think musicals should ever win awards. It takes a lot of talent to make a very good musical. There are not many good comedy and musicals these days.

Looking back on it, it really is embarrassing to see that this beat out GONY and The Hours.

Then again, I suppose there's a reason that none of the three leads have been very successful ever since.

I wouldn't call it the worst Best Picture winner. It is a very good movie and while it may not be ranked among the Best BP winners, it is certainly better than others films that have won, like A Beautiful Mind, Crash, Dances With Wolves, and The Boring Patient (I mean, The English Patient).

I love this movie but I totally didn't think it deserved all the Oscars it got. Winning over The Pianist? Are you serious? No....I don't know who blew who but it definitely didn't deserve to win Best Picture.
