Potentially more appeal to boys than girls...

But sadly many will be put of by the fact that the main character is a girl. I am a male and I think this movie is amazing the way it is and has much of the creepy macabre stuff that boys probably like more than girls. I reckon it could have possibly been more sucessful with a boy main character for this reason, not that I would personally change anything about it.
