Why was the boy version of the flash played by an oriental child?
Albeit half breed, I found it weird given that his parents are one Latina and one white dude.
Kids name is Ian Loh.

Young Barry watched a lot of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, you see. And he chose to identify as Asian so hard he took on the appearance.
shareMaybe they thought the kid could pass as a young Ezra Miller? Or closest to, given the pool of young actors available at the time of casting. Also, who under 75 still uses the term oriental?
shareIt's the best word to describe someone of Chinese descent.
Asia actually means India/Pakistan, and that's what it means in the UK.
They will say "an Asian man" and that's what they're referring to.
What we say is Asian is false.
Asian is just a broad term, like white is a broad term, doesn't make it false. But it would make more sense to call him a British child than an an oriental child, since he was born and raised in Britain and since he's clearly not entirely of Chinese descent.
shareMy post is in regards to his ethnicity, not his nationality. Please try to keep up.
shareEzra Miller looks Asian . . .he may not be but they also used an Asian mix child to portray him in 'We Need To Talk About Kevin'
Of course right wing people who love to use the word 'woke' will find something to complain about SMH
He doesn't look Asian. There are half Asians where the European features dominate (nose and eyes) and they may look like Ezra, but I wouldn't look at him and say "oh he's Asian".
shareWell that's obviously 'your' opinion. The casting directors and producers of at least two films agree with me. Calling a child a 'half-breed' is fucking disgusting.
shareDoes his ethnicity really matter? Kid looks like pretty spot-on for young Ezra, more than plenty of other child versions of characters I've seen before, regardless of the actors' ancestries.
shareIf Flash's parents were one white and one Asian I wouldn't care. But it was a European Latina and a white guy.
shareThat doesn't make sense. Why does the racial background have to match exactly if the look is convincing?
I don't know where you're finding this information about his parents races, but "European Latina" is not a race and also almost non-sensical, unless you mean "Latina who is descended from Europeans", which is pretty much just white.
Okay, just call her European.
Some classify Antonio Banderas as "Latino" but he's just a guy from Spain, not racially that different to other Europeans.
