I'm afraid the recent anti-bullying campaigns have totally backfired, the bullies are now claiming to be bullied and are using the language of the oppressed. Try to punish some asshole for beating up kids smaller than themselves and stealing their pocket money, and he'll claim the adult authorities are bullying HIM!

Same for the fanboys, who are devoting their lives to destroying female hero characters and their creators, while loudly proclaiming that they're oppressed. They can't STAND seeing movie studios pander to anyone's preferences but their own.

I've seen that a lot. Whenever they see some possitive female or non-white figure in a movie they inmediately say it's "SJW propaganda" or "Anti-white male propaganda" like if they were victims. They want to be victims desesperately.

reply

That's stupid. I'm not saying it isn't sometimes true, but it's stupid. As a straight, white, male human, I don't see any reason to get offended by gay, other races, genders, species, etc being the hero of a given story. I may not feel that the story speaks to me personally, but I don't think it's part of some propaganda. I either like the movie or not. What I don't like is when I get accused of being racist, sexist, etc just because I didn't like it. That door swings both ways.

Ever heard of the saying, give an inch, they take a mile?

You have no idea how weird liberals are. Many are mentally ill. Seriously.

reply

Oh, I do. Trust me, I do.

They were right to object to something like Girlbusters or even to two Star Wars movies in a row giving us female leads. But WW's been around for 75 years and is one of the most well-known superheroes, including those coveted TV incarnations which propel a superhero to widespread recognizability. Her movie being made was an inevitability. And there's nothing in the movie that attacks men. Trevor is shown to be just as heroic, and she is not shown to be right all the time, like Mary Sue Rey in Force Awakens was.

Would this also mean retroactively bashing the Alien series and Ripley, who have always been embraced by sci-fi and movie fans? Or Sarah Connor in T2 especially? How about Lara Croft Tomb Raider? There was no objection to her movie when it came out.

I disagree with the SJWs on many agenda items, one particularly ugly one was when they fascistically banned a very artistically done Joker/Batgirl cover. But the whole point of the Girlbusters thing was that they should use their own female characters, not try to co-opt other franchises. Wonder Woman is her own franchise and has no impact on males negatively.
