Who would you conjure up?

This has probably been done before, but I couldn't find it on the boards.

Just curious to see which character (fictional or historical) people would conjure up from the pages of a book if they were silvertongues and why?

Mine would have to be Mr. Frank Churchill from Jane Austen's 'Emma' - because he's cool, fun-loving, devastatingly charming and witty and would be awesome to hang around with!

reply

I just saw the movie and it didn't live up to my expectations, but the concept was cool.

I'd go find a good X-men novel and bring Gambit to life. (He's
my Edward Cullen.)That is if comic books didn't work. It'd be my loophole.
I'd have to bring out a version that wasn't in love with Rogue though. ;)

I'd say Edward too, but that's kind of difficult since he's already in love with Bella. The same goes for the rest of the Cullen boys.

Bringing a childhood dream to life, the kids from the Animorphs books.
Except maybe Rachel (eventhough she's awesome) because K.A Applegate
freaking killed her off!

Other then that, I'm not sure.

Ramona the Pest .

The women from Charms for The Easy Life by Kaye Gibbons. Charming sttrong southern women to hang out with.

Lol, somehow, I doubt that it would be a problem. He's not exactly a faithful, one-woman sort of guy, is he? ;)

reply

Fictional-Becky Sharp from Vanity Fair 'cause she'd be just so cool to know or the Mad Hatter so we could throw the best tea parties!

Historical-Oscar Wilde, without a doubt! With that wit, intelligence and sense of humor, he must have been an awesome dinner guest. Then again, there's Queen Elizabeth 'cause she always kicked ass.

I can't help being a gorgeous fiend. It's just the card I draw!-Lestat

reply

Woland & Co from Bulgakov's Master and Margarita

historical - Alexander the Great and Che Guevara

reply

All of the Watchmen from Terry Pratchett's Discworld!

reply

The Goblin King- Labyrinth, Sirius Black- Harry Potter, Captain Mal Reynolds- Firefly (they made a comic, it counts)

Many many more but these would be the first three.

I think I would conjure up some hot vamps from the night world series. and i would make a way for Dean from supernatural to come out. actually make it twin Deans ;).
then i would have my way with them :D

vampirediaries+supernatural+CSI:NY+bones+criminalminds+thementalist+NCIS=<3

reply

Jackie, you and I think alike about Dean....hehe...hmmmmmmmm...what I wouldn't do to be able to read him out of a book....*sigh*

And I think I would want to read out Legolas.....I'm a Lord of the Rings girl! I love my hot blonde Elves!

I'd start with reading out some castles - not big ones, smaller, easily maintained ones in appropriate architectural styles. Gotta have towers ♥
Maybe I could read out a whole new wardrobe? The Fairy godmother might be able to help me with that though.

I see Wonderland inhabitants are popular, I'll have to join in. If I was certain that I could bring her back, I'd love a visit from little Alice too.

No vampires - I'm sure Lestat would think of me as dinner before I had time to introduce myself.

I'd deffinitly read out Snape, because that misfortune with Voldemort happened, he wouldn't miss anything back where he belonged. We'd have loooooooong conversations of misfortunes, potions and hair.

I guess Sherlock Holmes would be interesting to talk to (and Watson too, or they'll miss each other). Oh, and Henry Wotton from Dorian Gray, because he's awesome.

And Tinkerbell of course! Or maybe just all of Neverland.

reply

I've got quite a few.

Heathcliff - Wuthering Heights (But that's an iffy one. He's one of my fave characters in Literature, but he's also in love with Catherine, so that would be a downer on the whole bringing him out thing).

Gellert Grindelwald - Harry Potter & Deathly Hallows.

Lancelet - The Mists of Avalon

Eliza - The Forgotten Garden

Hannah - The Shifting Fog

And theres a few characters from some of my own stories that I would probably bring to life as well.

reply

this is a fun one!

-definitely the Scarecrow from Wizard of Oz
-Alice Cullen, she would just be plain fun to have as a friend, forget her stupid, possessive, brooding brother.
-Vivian Abbot Walker, from Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, actually, all 4 Ya-Yas:) they would be hella fun to be around.
-i second the person who said Atticus Finch, the world could use one of him.
-i would love to see what terrors/adventures Eloise would cause
-Peter Pan and Tinkerbell for sure.
-Cyd Charisse from Gingerbread, Shrimp and Cupcake. i think she would make my life much more interesting.
-Sara Crew from A Little Princess
-Dickon from the Secret Garden
-Galinda/Glinda from Wicked, although more like the musical version than the book version
-Mary Poppins

there are defiantly more but they are not coming to mind right now..

There are so many books I've read, but these come to mind at the moment:

Pennywise the clown from IT
Voldemort from Harry Potter
Patrick Bateman from American Psycho
The dog from Cujo
Hannibal Lecter from the books by Thomas Harris
Carrie from.....Carrie

Oh! And if Damon from the Vampire Diaries looks anything like Ian Somerhalder then i would DEFINITELY read him out.
;D

elisapizza7, you must be the only person in the WORLD who would want to conjure up Pennywise! LOL I don't know a single person who has read the book and/or seen the movie, old or young, who doesn't think he is the most terrifying fictional villain of all time. Even Voldemort pales beside ol' Pennywise!

I, too, was thinking along the lines of Mr. Darcy, Aragorn, Rick Deckard and the like. Remember, one cannot put the genie back in the bottle! Shoot, I would rather face Hannibal Lecter than Pennywise, and I bet I'm not the only one.

I don't. I wouldn't read him out of It because he would probably start killing everybody but I don't think he is the most terrifying fictional villain of all time.
Look..at..me.
