Buddhists? Are you offended...

Does anyone feel that this film offends the Buddhist religion? This pop star who claims to be a Buddhist is up there shaking her a**, flaunting her body, and using a statue of the Buddha as a stage decoration. I am a Buddhist, and I understand that this film was just supposed to highlight the rediculousness of the singer, but I couldn't help feeling uneasy, seeing her appear out of a Buddhist monument. I liked the film, but I do feel a little offended.

Not particularly. I felt like they were trying to satirize pop culture's exploitation of Buddhism.

well at first i'm a lil offended but then Buddhism view is different, like the Zen saying 'if you meet Buddha on the road, kill Him' and the story of a zen practitioner burning Wooden Buddha statue.

What did Buddha say to the hot dog vendor?

"here's your change."
"nope, change come from within"

I always thank that Cora was an amalgama inspired at Enya (New Era music), Britney Spears (precocious sexuality) and Shakira (exotic choreographies and costumes).
