Every broken lizard fan hates atleast one of their movies

I've read so many fan posts, and someone will always say, "oh I love all their movies but puddle cruiser sucked", or club dread was a pile of stink... Or beerfest was their weakest effort... Some mad men even say super troopers was a waste of their time >_<

Everyone seems to have different opinions on their best movie, if there was a poll I'd say it'd be pretty even.

I love all their movies, I don't get how you can like a couple but despise the others when it's similar material written by the same people.

Am I the only one that loves them all?...

reply

I love them all, but for different reasons. I think most people will agree that Super Troopers was overall their funniest picture all the way through, but they all have moments of roll-on-the-floor laughing. But even the ones where the jokes are a bit more hit and miss, I still love them. They don't have to all be non-stop comedy to be worth watching.

seen 'em all ...at least at the time wasn't fond of beerfest ...if i were to watch it again things may be different ...maybe i should work on doing that soon.

super troopers was the movie that made me aware of broken lizard ...it's probably their funniest movie with their most brilliant lines and concepts but ...i think club dread is actually my favorite ...it's the most well balanced IMO ...keeps the viewer interested throughout where some scenes in super troopers led to being bored. super troopers started very strong but the rivalry wasn't all that entertaining IMO. anyway beerfest felt like their weakest effort, though i'm sure everyone tried. having the cast slowly revealed rather than all there from the beginning may have hurt things. also i might have been sober at the time ...trying it inebriated should be on my list of to-dos.

I have to say Slammin Salmon is the worst. I am not sure if it was the directing or editing that made it bad because it really did have a lot of potential. I think Jay should stick to directing their movies. Something about it just was not well done.

And I thought Slammin' Salmon was one of their best. I liked it much more than Club Dread or Beerfest. With all the story action happening in one location, it had a real theatre-in-the-round feeling that their comedy style is very well suited to. To each their own.

I also liked the slammin' salmon a lot.

Club Dread was not intended to be a "comedy"... it was a spoof of horror films with a bit of humor tossed in. I was disappointed at first but after a few viewings I started to appreciate the depth of what it took to put all that together. To call it unfunny is fair, it wasn't meant to be. To call it "uninspired" is WAY off base.

"Slammin' Salmon", now THERE is a funny film. WHATEVER, MF! Some of the bits were a little left field (cole slaw?) but I love the little things (ooh, crazy straw) that make it awesome (como se dice Cleveland Steamer?).

Hoping for PotFest but looking forward to ST2. Keep on keepin it real, BL boys.

I like every film they been in....there crazy!

reply

Agreed with thread title...Slammin Salmon sucks arse. (except the meat drapes bit)

Love all Broken Lizard´s movies.. Haven´t seen Puddle Cruiser though..

reply

Didn't know about Puddle and Salmon movies. I love Super Troopers, Club Dread, and Beerfeest. Forgot about them in Dukes but I love that movie to so they are gold again. Got to check out the 2 I missed and read about them now.

EVERY FAN JUST HATES PUDDLE CRUISER

reply

Puddle cruiser did suck. You could tell it was their first effort. It looked like it was their final exam for film class. I have really liked all of their other movies though. Super troopers was definitely by favorite. I am all that is man

reply

Didn't like "Puddle Cruiser". Love the rest.

reply

I can't say I hate or even strongly dislike any of their movies. The subtlety of Puddle Cruiser has a different appeal to the blatant slapstick of the others, but although it makes it different this is not a bad thing. My favourite has always been Super Troopers followed by Beerfest and Slammin' Salmon, with Puddle Cruiser and Club Dread bringing up third place. I don't think I could ever hate any of their efforts. I just hope they release Super Troopers 2, and keep new films coming... they're epic.

Haven't seen Puddle Cruiser or Dukes of Hazard but I like the rest.

LOVE Super Troopers. One of my favorite comedies ever.

HATED Club Dredd. One of the worst movies I have ever seen.
