Reviews are almost universally bad

Except few obviously paid ones @Satan2016 kept posting, I think we all know he is paid to do that.

IMDB and rotten tomato ratings are also at batwoman level.

How many F rated disasters are they going to put out before they learn?

Kathleen Kennedy put one chick in it, we will put 4, that should fixed the problems, right? Just because the all female Ghostbusters did not lose money, does not mean that is the model to follow.

Apparently the entirely entertainment industry is pushing stuff like this, whether we want it or not, the elites have clearly made up their mind.

You can only roll your eyes so much that reality hits back.

reply

It’s not a failure because chicks are in it, it’s a failure because they took a bunch of c-list characters who had nothing to do with one another in the comics and put them in a movie.

reply

They have been pushing stuff like this using big franchises like ghostbusters and spiderman, not to mention star wars and marvel, they have been trying hard.

I wonder why they didn't try a spider-woman stand alone film.

reply

It's neither the characters or that they're female.
It comes down to the writing and directing like any other movie. I said before, they used the same guys who wrote Morbius and a bunch of other crappy movies like Gods of Egypt, The Last Witch Hunter, and Dracula Untold.
Then they got a director who only worked in television but then they put her in charge of a $80M movie. One of the complaints in that first trailer was the movie looked like a CW show.
This didn't have to be terrible. But Sony couldn't be bothered to actually put some effort into this. Which I don't know how they expect people to support this franchise if they keep getting garbage. The only one that looked mildly interesting was Kraven and now that's probably dead-on-arrival.

I like both Dakota and Sydney, so I take no glee in the fact their movie will bomb. It doesn't look good at all, and I'm certainly not going to waste money or time going to the theater to see it Maybe a Redbox rental for a few bucks sometime. Maybe. I've skipped almost all the other recent Marvel outputs, so no problem ignoring this one.

I wish there was a modern Brian De Palma to put Dakota and Sydney in an erotic thriller together. Brian is too old and doesn't get any budgets anymore. I can think of a number of plots I'd enjoy these two ladies in, but a super hero setting isn't one of them.

Does Sweeney show any skin? Because that would be the only reason to watch this shitshow.

reply

Not from the comments of people who have seen it, even Sweeney wearing spider-man custom scenes are very brief.

It's weird how Satan is defending genuinely bad movies these days, so strange. I mean I only noticed it starting last year.

reply

Well I'll bet I know the part of the universe where this movie considered bad. The Spider Nebula.

Hohohohohoho!
