From the writers of.....MORBIUS. and other failed, poorly written movies

How do these people keep getting work? Flop after flop, bad reviews lined up, rejected by the public and poor word of mouth.

I'm sure there are talented script writers out there handing in scripts that get thrown in the trash.

Then these morons get everything green lit. What's the deal with Hollyweird?

reply

unfortunately, this movie never had a chance. 99% of the general public has no idea who these people are. only comic book nerds in basements have prior knowledge of all the characters in comic books.

reply

Only a few really knew who iron man was. Most barely knew who he was.

Iron Man the movie was great, word of mouth got around and now we have the Marvel cinematic universe.

Same with Deadpool.

If Madame Web was good, it wouldn't matter.

It's written by the Morbius writers, who fail on every single project.

reply

Iron Man and Deadpool had a fanbase and have had their own comic series, cartoons, video games, toys, etc.

Madame Web never had those things.

A fan base isn't enough to push a movie into a big hit with the general public.

Word of mouth was the success for those two. Not the fanbase.

Green Lantern has a fanbase. Movie was trash and it bombed.

Black Adam has a fanbase.

For a comic movie to be a success it has to spread broader than the fanbase and the general public have to turn up.

Madame Web has the Morbius writers. It's awful. It bombs.

My point being that those other characters have fans and franchises while Madame Web never did as she was just a side character who appeared sporadically in Spider-Man.

reply

There are different levels of lesser known characters. She is WAY below DP and Iron Man.

Cape Fatigue is real. And yes a superhero movie is going to have to work harder.

But, the question fo the op is on the money. This insistence on putting inexperienced or worse people in charge of big productions,

it's.... I can see how they might have thought that they found a good formula. Something like Superhero plus standard plot plus x amount special effects plus lots of editting equals 1 biilion dollars. Captain Marvel might have made them think that.

BUT, it's failed quite a number of times now. And even these gaint compainies seem to be feeling the effects of that.

Yet, the idiots in charge don't seem to be being held accountable for their failures.

Something is wrong with our current system.

reply

Simply saying that Madam Web is much more obscure than Iron Man was when the movie was released.

reply

Green lantern, The Flash, Fantastic Four are way above her.

Wonder Woman has a fanbase and is very well known to general audiences.

Wonder Woman 84 only made $169,601,036 Worldwide.

So what?

Don't put too much stock in fanbases.

reply

A bad movie is a bad movie, which is exactly what WW84 was. I'm pointing out that you compared Iron Man as an equally obscure character to Madam Web, and that simply isn't a valid comparison.
