Yet ANOTHER woke show with a woman throwing men around....

It seems like every new action show on TV these days has a female lead....they all seem to be incredible kung-fu savants....and they are constantly throwing multiple, armed men around, never losing a fight or even sustaining a blow.

Hey, I get it....every studio and production company are on the same mission to be woke, and to swing the pendulum the other way. Women want this on-screen....and even a lot of pussy men (with daughters)....who want their daughters to grow up feeling like they can do anything and everything a man can do. This is not truthful. We are just different, and have different strengths and weaknesses.

You're creating false expectations. And, you're slamming the pendulum TOO far the other way, and too abruptly......hence, it comes across as patronizing and pandering. Hell, it comes across as a silly, unrealistic joke.

If you wanted realism on-screen, these women would lose badly in these fights...like, 97% of the time. In those kinds of fights, they'd be knocked out cold almost every time--and in pretty short order (not that anyone would want to see that). If you want to convey some sort of warped, "equal-time" agenda on-screen....these women would at least need to sustain a blow to the chops once in a while (not that anyone would want to see that)...and would need to lose at least 50% of the time. Instead...we get these ridiculous, pandering fights in which one 100 lb lady is throwing 2-3 trained, armed men around like rag-dolls, and never taking one single blow. This is insulting to all involved, including your audience.

So now...the latest, in a long line of cop and action shows like MacGyver, Chicago PD, FBI, etc, etc...we get The Equalizer, featuring a middle-aged, heavy-set lady....you guessed it: throwing around a bunch of armed, trained men...never sustaining one blow, and presumably winning every skirmish she gets in.

This is silly pandering, and everyone knows it. You can't throw the pendulum THAT far...THAT hard the other way. It's just...disingenuous...and silly. Watching Queen Latifah...of all people....throw people around? This show won't last 6 episodes.

Enough with this forced, woke bullsh-t. It's an OVERreaction.

reply

Trailer looks terrible.Aside from the pandering woke gender swap casting Latifa is a huge step down from the acting power house likes of Edward Woodward and Denzel Washington.I gave the magnum pi reboot ,with their new woke Higgins, 3 episodes before i quit watching.I'm not even gonna bother with this one.

reply

The casting is a joke, and a bad one.

reply

it's sad to see all these trained bodybuilding woman with muscular bodies being overlooked for roles like this.

reply

It's a shame the film and television industries are in the appalling state that they're in. This show is such an archetypical example of the lack of creativity in the industry.

reply

It looks pretty meh...

reply

It certainly is.

reply

yes

reply

Too right.

reply

An old fat woman is the Equalizer? Can she run ten feet without needing a breather?

reply

Well, at least it isn't the usual 90-pound little girl, passing as a woman.

reply

Agreed, but who cares, nobody watches regular tv anyway.

reply

If you want a female to be the hero the only real option is just to make her a good shot that pops a cap in the bad guys. The fighting hand to jand is bullshit unless they are willing to have her beat up and raped in every episode.

reply

Agreed.

reply

Because it's sooo believable when the men fight in action movies. . .

reply

When men fight one on one or sometimes two on one, it is at least plausible... and yes when one man takes out a dozen it is a joke. But it is even more of a joke when it is a woman. Couldn't be more ridiculous unless the made it a 1st grader.

reply

It's not plausible, the fights they have in those movies? Come on. It's supposed to be fantasy entertainment, you shouldn't be getting all bent out of shape over women doing it lol

Besides if a woman WAS going to fight a man, she'd have gone straight for the balls, no throwing or punching necessary. That would be realistic but I'm betting that you wouldn't want to watch that.

reply

Some movies are fantasies some are intended to follow reality. And no I wouldn't have a problem with going straight for the balls, but even if she did that when fighting a horde of bad guys she wouldn't be able to take at everyone of them before she was knocked on her ass, raped and killed.

reply

and that wouldn't happen to a man with a horde of bad guys??

reply

You haven't read the full thread have you. That point was already discussed.

reply

I've read the whole thread and it's just as silly for a man to be able to fight like they have in those shows, but you've been seeing it your whole life so it's normalized for you, women do it and it's 'oh my God a woman wouldn't be able to do that! This is FAKE!' Well no shit it's fake.

reply

If you've read the whole thread and that's all you got from it then your reading skill appear to be at the level of a first grader.

reply

Well ive read the whole thread too and the point that it men traditionally fight stupid number of assailants and no one complains has NOT been discussed

reply

I guess you missed the post that had the following in it:

"When men fight one on one or sometimes two on one, it is at least plausible... and yes when one man takes out a dozen it is a joke."

reply

Who. is complaining about men not being able to fight a horde of guys on any movie or any comment on this site? You won't find one, because that would be stupid, but you always see some guy complaining about a woman doing it in action movies. Why is that?

reply

The tread is about a show with a woman in it that defies logic... if it was a show about Rambo then you would have people talking about the ridiculousness of Rambo taking out a platoon by himself. If you don't understand that difference then kindly go fuck off because your trying to find problems where they don't exist.

reply

The tread is about a show with a woman in it that defies logic..
yes , and the retort from the sane non woman hating people is:
"its the same with a male hero , BUT , crucially , no one gives a shit "
The Rambo board is NOT filled with threads saying 'oh no rambo couldnt kill all those guys by himsdelf' "

reply

Then go bitch and moan on the Rambo board, because that's where bitching about a man not being able to kill a horde of bad guys should be.

reply

Thanks for chiming in! I am so grateful to have someone act like a kind human being around here.

reply

Jesus Christ, why are you being such an asshole? There's no reason for you to get so bent out of shape. Have a nice life . . .whatever.

reply

The only one being an asshole is you, you ignorant cunt. You continually bring in things outside the discussion to try and derail what is being said.

reply

You are so angry. Have you ever considered therapy or meditation?

reply

I'm not angry just tired of ignorant cunts like you.

reply

You spelled ignorant wrong.

reply

Even when a woman goes for the balls she would be out cold before she could get her leg up to her assailant's knees.

It's not plausible, the fights they have in those movies? Come on.

Have you seen a Steven Seagal movie? His first three or four films showed very realistic fighting scenarios were he very believably takes multiple bad guys to task.

Here's a clip:
https://youtu.be/HSThKUgx18s?t=30

In real life you can even find clips on YouTube of guys beating multiple opponents, some two, or three, or four at a time.

Here's one:

It's supposed to be fantasy entertainment, you shouldn't be getting all bent out of shape over women doing it lol

Except it's not all fantasy.

Here's a few more clips of one dude taking out many.
https://youtu.be/TOECLM1xA48

Hilariously enough, people really do line up and fight one at a time, even in real life.

You'll never find a real life woman being able to do any of what you see those guys doing, especially the part where the one guy breaks free from those three guys pummeling him and beats the snot out of all of them.

Go ahead and try to find such a clip across all the interwebs.

I'll wait until the twelfth of never for your results.

reply

Thank you so much for this lol

reply

Yeah, feel free to copy/pasta that whenever some Leftie uses the excuse "hurr durr no guy can fight multiple opponents at a time!"

What they oftentimes tend to forget is that art imitates life before life imitates art, and the whole fighting multiple opponents at once is usually an exaggeration of real life combat, as evident in the YouTube clips (and it's obviously been happening way before the digital age, it's just that way back in the day CCTV didn't exist so the concept of a single dude fighting multiple opponents became bar tales and seemingly fabled myths).

But women fighting off multiple grown men without a firearm or knife? Now that's fantasy!

reply

I thought you were joking with your Steven Seagal post. Jesus Christ, you were being serious?

reply

Absolutely.

Did you watch the other videos?

Real men beat up multiple men all the time in one-on-two, one-on-three, and one-on-four situations.

Steven Seagal films show a great way of taking out multiple opponents by creating distance and utilizing an opponent's momentum against them.

Check out the clip here:

A real life situation where a guy uses similar techniques and positioning as Steven Seagal to fight multiple opponents:

Not sure what's "lol" worthy about people in real life doing what you see in the movies, but it just goes to prove that all the beta males saying "it's not possible" are only saying that because they lack the testosterone and training to fight multiple men a time, something a woman could never do.

reply

Hey, she's AT LEAST 300 pounds ...
