Anybody prefer Lynch's version?
I'm asking simply because his version has so much more of the plot in the movie. As visually impressive as the new version is, it just seems devoid of substance.

shareI watched Lynch’s for the first time 2 weeks ago an and this week I watched Villeneuve’s. I am from Quebec and enjoyed all his films except Blade Runner 2049. As for Lynch, he’s a hit and miss for me.
In this case here, I preferred Lynch version simply because it was more fun.
Dune: 1984: 8/10
Dune 2021: 7/10
Of course. It's the best Dune anyone's ever done. Including Frank Herbert.
shareOf course. The Lynch version got the right tone. Villeneuve is merely using his CGI airbrush and completely misses the point.
