How could people like this one but not the 1996 movie??

I feel like the 96 film did everything better. Better music, better cinematography, WAY better action and suspense. The tornadoes all had personalities in the first film and were all way more threatening, and the way they look and sound are entirely unique while always being a legitimate force worth escaping from. All of the tornadoes this time around are the same, look the same, nothing interesting, and rarely do they pose a threat except for at the beginning and end. Speaking of the end, what a disappointment. The tornado vanishing right before it hits El Reno is like having Godzilla die right before he attacks Tokyo. Twister had a way more climactic ending and the resolution felt far more satisfying. I liked Twisters enough but I never felt like the characters were in much danger.

The original one was better.

The writing in Twisters wasn't bad. It was better than I expected. The problem were the actors. The guy that played Javier was as boring as you can be. No personality. They could have picked nearly anyone else in Hollywood.

I thought the female lead was boring at first but she hit her stride in the middle of the movie.

Glenn Powell made the movie. If he wasn't in it, it would be a 4/10 film. He carried to a 7/10.

I liked this one but the original is still the better choice. That one had better actors plus not just good special effects but also some really ooooh and ahhhh wow moments, like the cow for example. It was much better put together but this one is a nice try.

If anyone's interested, I reviewed the movie on my youtube channel. Appreciate any feedback. Trying to improve -

I can only think that they didn’t see the 1996 film. When I saw Twisters, I was so disappointed at the quality of the tornadoes which looked like pale grey wispy clouds with no definition plus hail. I went back and watched the first movie last night. I thought maybe I’d gotten that film wrong. But I didn’t. The all star cast. I’d forgotten Phillip Seymour Hoffman was in it. But tornadoes were ominous and massive and full of debris and were noisy and black and came out of nowhere and terrifying. It was full of suspense and comedy. Music was great. Timing was great. Good Plot.

"The suck zone" automatically makes that movie higher on the tier list.

This terrible sequel definitely raised the original up a lot of points.

it's the wonder of nature dude

No idea. This movie is very forgettable. At least have a lead actress whom is eye candy, not comparable to a 2' x 4'. I'm thinking maybe she's the director's girlfriend, they do things like that.
