The "landslide" scene.

Almost everyone in my theater laughed at the "landslide" scene.
Being an immigrant I might not understand the context.
Could someone please explain?

Thank you

I just watched last night. I didn't find the scene funny.

I can guess though.

The song is about the melancholy of growing old. None of this group of people is going to experience old age though. We -- the audience -- already know from the movie's beginning that they are all going to end up dead fairly soon.

So I guess it's a type of reverse foreshadowing. Mildly amusing, maybe, but nothing flat out hilarious.

They were probably laughing because of the cut scenes with the old lady, Pearl...She was so hard up for some dick it was hilarious. But I saw that scene as beautiful to be honest...It was set up perfectly too. It was right after when the porn stars explain why they can have sex with others who aren't their lovers...and how non porn stars are just bitter and how like before they know it, Life will pass them by. They will be old and not even be able to have sex anymore...(like Howard had just turned down Pearl's advances..it was sad to see her rejected) then brittany snow begins singing...which by the way she has a beautiful voice...the whole scene was beautiful.

because it was way too pretentious to be in a grindhouse horror feature.

the scene is great because you don't know if it's sincere or meant to be tongue in cheek

I almost turned it off at that point because the combination of the song and visuals was extremely depressing for me. I'm glad I pushed through the to watch the rest of the movie because I did enjoy it. But that scene was very tough to get through. Why anybody would laugh at that is beyond me. Maybe they just didn't understand it.
