What Franchises Are Left?

With this movie destroying the Indiana Jones franchise, how many iconic film franchises are still left? Star Wars was destroyed, Jurassic Park was destroyed, No Time to Die ruined James Bond, The Matrix destroyed, Rambo was ruined by Last Blood, Die Hard 5 ruined Die Hard, Alien has been destroyed, Harry Potter ruined by Fantastic Beasts, Terminator completely butchered, Toy Story was ruined by Toy Story 4, etc.

Mission Impossible is still good, but for how long? They didn’t ruin LOTR yet, but I assume they will. Back to the Future is safe, but for how long? Why is Hollywood obsessed with destroying classic franchises?

reply

Don't give Hollywood any ideas what beloved, iconic franchise they should ruin NEXT!

reply

The Mission Impossible 'franchise' is essentially what the Bond 'franchise' should have been (had it not pandered to 'woke trends')

And Cruise (love him or hate him) has been the star of said 'franchise' longer than Brosnan and Craig's tenures combined.

reply

And Top Gun hasn't been ruined yet. Actually, the second one was better than the first.

reply

Cruise is a certified legend now. The guy is doing insane stunts in his 60s when guys half his age would never even attempt half of what he does.

reply

Yeah. The guy has reached Icon status at this point. Some people will argue with me, but 100 years from now the guy is going to be remembered. It's not that he was that amazing of an actor. It's the roles that he took and the insane $h!t that he was willing to do that he will be remembered for.

reply

For sure. He is 100% dedicated to his craft in a way that many actors are not. Even after more than 40 years, he is still super passionate about making movies.

It's funny that he only fashioned himself as an action star LATER in life. So many of his roles when he was younger were comedies or dramas.

reply

There is still the Jaws movie franchise. Sure 3 and 4 sucked ball$ and 2 was a huge step down from the original, but as bad as they were they have a certain charm about them.

reply

I probably wouldn't include Jurassic Park in your list. Only the first one was ever great; the rest have all been various shades of entertaining but never great.

Personally, I'd probably rank them 1 4 3 6 5 2.

reply

They could go with Back To The Future Continuous.

reply

We still have the Dollars trilogy.

reply

Those all weren't destroyed. I will admit the last matrix kinda sucked. It felt low budget but at least they brought back Neo and Trinity. The last die hard. Yeah kinda bad but it was running on fumes for years. They are gonna pump them out until they start to suffer from creative burnout. Jurassic Park??? Well the fourth film was actually better than 2 and 3. I haven't seen 5 and 6 yet.

So are these the new insults the left and right are trading? The left calling the right fat and the right calling the left pedos? Looks like that civil war's brewing at just the correct temperature...
