How are these people healthy with no sunlight

You'd think they'd be unhealthy from a lack of Vitamin D. Mushrooms, eggs, and certain seafoods can do it for you, but in the long run, you need sunlight.

This show is slow. Kind of roams around too much, but I guess the story is interesting enough. I gave up after 3 episodes. Jumped back in and gave it another shot. Beyond a few people, these folks don't seem to have any desire to know about their past, or what happened outside. I assume Judicial has everyone scared out of their mind to question anything.

The cliffhanger was good enough to peak my interest about a 2nd season.

As long they have vitamin d, they don't need sunlight.

Their skin tones would be immensely pale, especially after 140 plus years. As long as Vitamin D is coming from other sources, they would probably be okay but yeah, sunlight is definitely the best source hands down.

The lamps also emit UV-A light.

Supplements and probably a better diet than we have are keeping them healthy.

Think about how many people in the real world just exist indoors - sitting in their Mom's basement eating Doritos and drinking Mountain Dew or whatever, and yet they survive.

reply

True. But even they get out and go places. The people in these silos get zero sun, for their entire lives.

reply

In my best Maxwell Smart voice, how about they bred people to survive underground with no sun exposure?
