How does a woman who constantly eats junk food stay thin?

It's not very realistic that a woman who gorges on ice cream and KFC and sleeps all day would stay as fit and slender as Charlize Theron does.

To me the movie made it seem eating that junk food was abnormal for her because she had to seriously think about before she ate it.

she also seemed to drink alot of her meals

Well as someone said, it was just a movie but realistically you could eat crap foods and still maintain your weight. A lot of people claim genetics, but this is something I have observed with people who aren't overweight and eat tons of junk food:

1.) they eat one large meal around 1200-1800 calories...but that is all they eat for that day.

2.) they eat bites of their food and snack often, but never finish their food in its entirety. I had a friend lose weight eating 1200 calories of junk food.

Both of the above are terrible for your metabolism in the long haul, but you could lose or temporarily maintain your weight for awhile.

There are few things as fetching as a bruised ego on a beautiful angel.

Charlize Theron did an excellent job here, but I do think they could have done a bit to "uglify" her more like they did in "Monster." It's possible she could still be thin with all the junk food she eats (based on habit that have been expressed in this thread), but the face and complexion don't fit the diet. Regardless, I was willing to suspend disbelief because I loved her performance.

Not that unrealistic. I eat all kinds of junk all the time and I don't work out at all, I'm still kind of skinny. Or I'm at around 83kg and 192cm tall and nearing 30years old.

Has anyone seen the TV show Supersize vs Superskinny.

Loads of skinny people go on that and claim they can eat what they want and stay thin, and it shows what they eat (junk food, fizzy drinks etc.) but they never really eat enough of anything over a week, and the doctor on it shows them signs in their body of how unhealthy they really are regardless of them being thin. It's an eye opener, especially for those people who say they can eat what they want and never get fat.

With regards to the film, I kinda got the impression she was going through some issues, but she also hung out in those places from time to time when writing as it was a way of connecting with the young adults she wrote about.

my sister eats junk food all the time. Pretty much every meal, but she's still thin (albeit probably unhealthy). Maybe she skips lunch and/or breakfast sometimes which could explain why she's not fat. It's not fair. When I eat it I get fat.

No expectations, no disappointments.

Genes, metabolism, probably doesn't eat much of it. She was also depressed and maybe was just eating that way for a short amount of time. Also if you eat crap whether its all day or once a day and are still thin you are not fit. Fit is healthy on this inside and out. One of my best friends is only 100 lbs but eats crap, and smokes just because she's thin doesn't make her fit, she is the unhealthiest person I know. Thin doesn't equal healthy.
