Shouldve been Six Million Dollar Man (or Knight Rider or Airwolf)
Gosling and Blunt could've still been in the lead roles (Gosling - Steve Austin/Michael Knight/Stringfellow Hawke, Blunt as Jamie Sommers/Bonnie/Caitlin)
My guess any of those would've opened closer to 98m instead of 28m. as those would've have a better chance at exciting audiences ,(but Fall Guy not so much)
Fall Guy was such a bizarre choice of 80s TV show to give the big budget treatment (stuntmen, insider Hollywood stuff), you want make a movie of a Lee Majors series surely its got to be TSMDM first and foremost (and is vaguely Superhero but like a realistic version). and Knight Rider or Airwolf are more beloved by fans and even regular folk who remember them (and both probably show on tv more regular than TFG), the iconic theme tunes, the 80s tech vibe etc. KR has the potential Fast & Furious meets Transformers thing (and The Hoff is still a big pop culture icon guy, he'd obviously cameo or more in some way), Airwolf is remembered as ubercool, and has the aircraft Top Gun thing (you can imagine how awesome it would be now with all the stunts etc). You only have to check utube for all the millions of views various clips, opening intros, theme tune etc those shows get (I'm guessing TFG gets no where near the level of KR/AW/SMDM)
Of course studios probably figure the original series the movie is based on is secondary to the hot 'of the moment' stars in an all new action film (also see 90s Mission, Lost in Space, Fugitive etc) but in often its the strength of the show concept and nostalgia that can make or break the new movie version ,
