My standard DVD version from Amazon gives the option of English dubbing as well as subtitles.
It's better to rest in the warm body of a friend, than in a cold hole in the ground.
Dubbing just totally messes with the tone of movies. Even if you can't understand the speech, you can still hear the sounds and inflections of the voices, ruining the actor's performances and the emotional flow of the film.

shareI'm English yet I love watching foreign films spoken in their native language. Subtitles have never bothered me and I cannot stand dodgy American/English dubbing.
It's a Norwegian film. The whole world doesn't have to bow down and subject itself to the English language. How is your Norwegian, anyway?

I think you might find that it's not the film that's stupid...
An over dub would have probably made it look phony as the mouth movements rarely match the words we hear, plus the acting in over dubs almost always is under par compared to the original acting.
The subtitles work fine.
