Why is everyone hating so hard?
I thought it was a fantastic movie. My only complaint was that the young Dawson looks nothing like James Marsden. Other than that I really enjoyed it. Everyone's so harsh.

shareMaybe because it's a bad movie?

Totally unrelated, but just had to say.....Best signature ever. Half the people on here should have that, lol.
Unless this lady works for the circus...she didn't shoot herself

I liked it until the ending.
I liked it until the ending.
yea, totally. Cyclops doesn't die that easily. completely unrealistic!!!
shareI liked it from the first time I saw the trailer to the end of the movie but I guess that's just me.
People have been complaining about why Luke was casted to be Young Dawson but didn't see the fact that Young Dawson was supposed to be treated badly and was always beaten by his father for every little thing that he did and he wasn't supposed to look like the current Dawson (James) because that Dawson didn't go back to town after he got out of prison
EQUALITY is an illusion that we must face to achieve true awesomeness
Period.
It ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.
Yep.
As I posted elsewhere:
The canonical ending was like something you would see in a soap opera. A bad soap opera that was rushed into finishing early because it was cancelled.
My rating sharply went from maybe a 6, to a flat 2 after watching that.
I agree on the heart replacement - it'll be dawson's, but imo their love seemed very real to me...
shareNah I disagree. You watch enough shows and movies you can tell what's gonna happen from early. It's about how they execute the idea and the idea that a movie about long lost love doesn't end with them two together because the guys heart ends up in her son is a great idea and It's a GREAT movie.
shareI agree. The critics are always so harsh with Nicholas Sparks' movies. I know a lot of them have never read the books they are based off of and I've loved almost all of them even though I have read the books before it. It was a great movie and stuck very closly to the book like I was hoping.

It wuz so predictable like I knew his friend wuz gonna bite it and guess whose heart dat is
Werd 2 ur mudda, bruddafckka
Why?....How about the fact that it was all rushed. Dawson and Amanda were in love, but for what reason exactly? They were just shown as being in love, like right away almost. You never got to see their relationship grow and you never got to feel any connection to them.
So when they're shown 21 years later and they kiss and get all emotional, and the "tragic" thing happened, it's pretty much impossible to feel something for them, to be drawn in, because as I said, no viewers got a chance to feel any connection to them because their relationship when they were teens happened so fast. You never got to see it grow. They were just in love from the start pretty much.
Rodents of Unusual Size?...I don't think they exist.
I was loving the film, til the ending.
It was bull****, I am getting sick and ******** tired of all these films ending so depressingly, I watch these things to feel good not to make me more depressed than I already am.
You'll like the "Tears of Joy" version then.

I thought it was a great movie also. I would rather it ended with them getting back together but the ending was pretty good IMO non the less. It certainly was a tear jerker.
