As a gamer, worth watching?

Played all of the installments on console, not seen the film yet, is it worth watching?

They should start a new ad campaign with such ringing endorsements as "it's not THAT bad" & "meh it's watchable". "Just go in with low expectations. Let's face it, you don't have anything better to do with your time."

I haven't seen it, but I think only unless you're very flexible in the "lore" and such.
I doubt it would be much like the games, and just do its typical Hollywood-spin on things.

Also, I had a feeling this movie would turn out mediocre after seeing only a few previews a LONG time ago. - It had a similar feel to the "Prince of Persia" flick. Just a big-budget videogame-movie with some stars (actual good actors) but just thrown into a bunch of spectacle.
It's a real waste of potential... But then, to be honest, so are most of the games. LOL

You can give it a try, but I personally had a feeling that it is seriously lacking in plot in comparison with games. Which is really weird if you think about it. Why would we need a movie based on a video game that diminishes the game's plot focusing instead on... action?

I have played all the games on PC and had high hopes for this movie but I have to say that I was very disappointed. It was quite bad.

Depends? Do you care for Desmond Miles? Because, mostly, you'll be watching the present.

I personally liked the Assassin scenes - but, not that many of them. The story we all know. Spent way too much time on the exposition to explain the story to the non gamers - which is fine, they want to make money, and not necessarily please us who have played the games.

And, sure, his name is not Desmond Miles, and the character in the past is not named Altair, but it's the Desmond Miles/Altair story.

I went in with low expectations. It was okay.

Never played the game, but read the books.

It is a great movie. I'd go see it. Well, I am going to see it again.
