Why all the negative comments?

Ok, it may not be the best film ever. But it's still entertaining and has a decent story with out any major plot holes.
Why so many people seem to hate it that much?

Assassins Creed and Passengers had low rating but found them more entertaining than Arrival, Rogue One, and Manchester By the Sea.

Probably because gamers (I'm not one) are a very vocal group they can't help themselves. Nothing can live up to there precious video games, they don't want it to. So they just slate everything else.

There is a bandwagon mentality on the internet mostly lead bu nerds. And if they hate something before they even see it they won't change their minds once it's been seen; causing any problems a movie might have to become exaggerated.

There was a HUGE plot-hole. We're told that Aguilar was the last in possession of the Apple, and that he was burnt at the stake.
It's then revealed that he escaped that execution. That's fine, but then he only comes into contact with the Apple after he escapes!

How did Cotillard's character know that he was ever in possession of the Apple if she believed he'd died before ever coming into contact with it?
