Did anyone else get emotional during Robin Williams last scene?

While watching Robin Williams in his final scene, I couldn't help but to say goodbye to him and shed a tear. I've watched his career my entire life and will miss him greatly. What he says in his final moments in the film are fitting as well. So sad.

I got teary and then seeing the "In memory of" and "The magic never ends" had me crying.

reply

Yup. I cried. I love that man and hate that he is no longer with us in this world, that there won't be any new films with him. I just hate it!

Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!

I will say that it was rather sad to see this film being one of Robin Williams last films.

Robin Williams had always been a living legend and a comedic genius in my book, so I naturally teared up with that last scene. I couldn't help but think he was talking to the audience, that he knew it was his last moment and wanted to say a final goodbye. Its heartbreaking really.

Such a sad & cruel ending for a man who dedicated his life to making other people laugh. Unlike so many actors, Williams was also a gem of a person offscreen and that made that last scene all the more poignant because you could feel that this was the last you would see of a genuinely great & humble person.

I might have uttered the words Oh captain my captain while watching this film...

I bawled like a baby during his final scene when I watched it the first time.

Upon multiple viewings....well, I still bawl like a baby each time. Honestly, the part that really, really hurts now is when they are all dying on the rooftop and Teddy is already frozen on the ground, and the only thing still human about him is his face...and his eyes are filled with tears as he is staring at the night sky. I felt that I could see Robin and his pain in that scene and that tore my heart out.

I may be reading to far into the final scene now that I've seen in a few times and because I am viewing it through the lens of Robin's death, but the whole "Smile, my boy. It's sunrise" gutted me pretty badly too when I realized that Larry doesn't see Teddy turn back into wax. He turns away to see the sun rise, and when Larry's attention is elsewhere Teddy finally becomes 100 percent wax again. I can't help but see that transition as a parallel to Robin's life and death. He was slipping away and gone before anyone could notice :'(

i also watched his career all of my life but there was something i couldn't forgive him for, so i had very mixed feelings.

reply

Well as an actor we feel cheated, but as a human being he chose to go on his own terms, without the media and paparazzi tracking his last breath. Can't blame him for that. A truly great actor who is greatly missed.

reply

Yep, sure did, but I felt it for all of them as that is the last for them, 'limited time' visit with the tablet, along with the fact Robin left us.
