Not great, not bad either

Frankly, comparing this to the original wouldn’t even be fair (it’s basically a masterpiece) so I’ll try not to do that; the CGI and quick cut/edits used in the fights were too abundant and are getting more and more noticeable to my eyes and I still prefer old school choreographies to this new modern style. I’m annoyed by it. The story is formulaic painted by numbers and didn’t dare to explore new avenues. What really makes this a fun time was the cast, the actors were seemingly having a good time themselves, bad guys as much as the good guys, and it was contagious through the screen. Connor “Notorious” McGregor was the highlight with his crazy energy. Good casting choice. My rating: 6.5/10

I would agree. It was decent, 6/10.

McGregor was absolutley atrocious, I hope he never acts again. This movie overall was a terrible and unecessary remake. I've been considering if this was better or worse than the Red Dawn or Point Break remakes. Certainly on the same level.

I wanted to like this one too, because I like Jake, so it wasn't like I was close minded from the start.

I loved watching him walk around with his manly strut! 😆

MOVIE WAS OVER THE TOP...TONGUE IN CHEEK ...AND RIDICULOUSY CHARMING.

AND MCGREGOR WAS PRETTY DAMN GOOD PLAYING THE ANGRY ROOSTER.

My best friend loved this remake, even said he liked it better than the original.

I WOULDN'T GO THAT FAR...BUT I DID QUITE ENJOY IT.

This movie was dumb action, just like the first one.

Let’s not pretend the first one was anymore than that.

THIS IS A FAIR STATEMENT.
