This one instead had excellent storytelling, editing, setting.
I was hooked from start to finish.
Really an exception for Scott and for movies produced under covid.
I highly recommend it to anyone into mature filmmaking.
This movie is 20 years too late. Imagine if this came out in 2001. Everyone would go bonkers!

It was the era of ancient / medieval war movies. Just like nowadays is the era of superhero movies.
shareI have to agree with action. People today are just too engulfed by superhero films and are just not open to historical films as they used to be in the past. Also with the western political issues on sjw propaganda, they are imploding as a culture and loathe these types of films that don't have the political agenda the west is currently obsessed with.

shareThis was a fantastic film. I cannot believe how underappreciated it is simply because it's not a superhero film nor an sjw film. It reminded me of so many films of this type in the 80s with Kurosawa's influence.

It is unfortunate, because imho it is this year best film.

shareAgreed. I loved the performances by Damon, Domer, Driver and Affleck, and the writing was excellent as well as the set pieces, costumes/wardrobe and cinematography. And I take that back, in that I probably will watch it again but one of those once in a blue moon type things, the subject matter is just really heavy is all.
