Rashomon

If you liked the Last Duel, you may enjoy the classic film Rashomon from Akira Kurosawa.

reply

Absolutely. The Last Duel is excellent in its own right, but clearly owes a great deal to Kurosawa for his development of the "Rashomon effect”, a storytelling method involving a multi-perspective approach to a singular event—which is of course the basis for The Last Duel.

I highly recommend both films. Though, even for non-fans of The Last Duel, Rashomon (and most of Kurosawa's other work, for that matter) should really be checked out by any film buff.

Well certainly, any time we can expose someone to a master like Kurosawa, we should be obliged.

reply

Cheers to that!🍻

Is it Oblivioid or Obviousoid?

reply

What's your problem? Rashomon is 72 years old. Younger generations need help finding classics like this.

reply

Fuck 'em in the ear.
Who doesn't know of Kurosawa or Fellini by now should strictly stick to Marvel and die in that MCU.

reply

People who are not westerners (japanese for kurosawa) and are not fiom buffs.

Don't waste your time on him. Just another cranky old loon strangled by the grip of his own massive ego.

reply

Highly highly agree. Both are excellent films, this is so underrated due to the US' internal politics. It will be a cult fiom imo like Excalibur and The 13th Warrior.
