Had to turn it off after 30 minutes

You mean its the worst 30 minutes you've seen? I don't know what drives a person to claim they turned the movie off (or actually did turn it off, either way you're still a jackass) and then run to the internet to tell all the land how bad what you saw was. Why even bother? If you hated it that much, go make your own horror movie so some *beep* can post "walked out 20 minutes in" and continue the cycle.

I was about to do the same it picked up in the 2nd half but I would have appreciated more of a back story but I guess this is what you get on a low budget

My wife and I watched it almost to the end, even accepting the unbelievable premise of the guy wanting to prolonge his sick game. But the ridiculous part that came later was too much for us to take.

John, Sarah's husband badly wounded, from behind the bad guy, gets his arms around him, then John falls to the ground with the bad guy on top of him. John is holding him tightly with both arms around his neck. The dude can not move. All the while Miss Maddie is sitting on the floor in the house watching through the glass door, imagining various scenarios as her mother's voice narrates them, rejecting each one believing they'd result in Maddie ending up dead. In all this time she was sitting on her butt daydreaming, she could've grabbed any number of objects, including knives to kill the guy, or she could've kicked him to death, jumped on his stomach, poked his eyes out, etc as John held him helpless.

We had to skip to the end to see if she got her stupid self killed or not. Apparently, her bout with meningitis caused her to lose more than her hearing.
