How Do White People Feel About This Movie?

I've read around on social media that a lot of white people felt Get Out was "anti-white" or "racist against white people." I feel like the only way you could be truly offended by this movie is if you were an actual racist, as this movie holds a fun-house mirror up to racists showing a distorted, disturbing version of what you own hatred could turn into.

I can't imagine a non-racist feeling targeted by this movie, as it's just that, a movie (thank God, although American slavery did actually happen). I'm curious how white people felt watching this? If you felt it was racist to have white villains, why so?

I didn't think much about it until you asked. I don't know how it was anti white, when the white people were screwing with the black people. I just enjoyed most of the movie and really didn't think it was anti white.

I'm white. I liked the film a lot! I don't care what it's racial intentions were. It was an entertaining and creepy movie. I've been a big fan of Jordan Peele for a while, and I was happy that he won a screenplay Oscar. Sadly, I wasn't going to watch The Oscars to see him take the stage due to the constant political preaching throughout the show though.

I thought it was good, didn't feel offended or that it was racist towards white people either.

the point of this movie was to satirize white racial attitudes. mainly, our hypocrisy.

as a white person, i feel qualified to make that assessment.

in terms of content, it is the most important film i've seen in a long time, certainly many years.

devastating wit, metaphor, thematic heft.

if you are white and offended by it .... awesome :)

The whole 'evil white villains' concept didn't bother me at all. I just thought it was kind of ridiculous at times. But still, I thought Get Out was entertaining. I sort of enjoyed it. It was different. Was it the greatest movie I've ever seen? Certainly not. But I give it some props for being original and having a good cast.

Average white guy here, thought the movie was ok, if not a little overrated. Just a rip-off of The Skeleton Key(which did it better imo, Get Out only rose to the top because of race baiting) But anti-white? Nah.

I haven't seen the film nor have I any plans to. I am sick of the political agenda's and the division that is sought to be created by those who push them. I am also sick of the double standard's.

And yes OP, "American slavery" happened. But slavery existed for a long time and still does in some places. It has been practiced by just about every culture.
