What will happen to Ariel at the parks?

As of today on meet & greets and photo opportunities around Disney parks Ariel is still being represented by young women who resemble the cartoon version (caucasian, redhead, etc). What will happen with the release of this movie? Kinda confusing to younger fans?

reply

Easy. The fake black version of her will be forgotten when the movie bombs, and people will still be meeting the redhead in the parks.

reply

Maybe they will have both, like Santa clause at the mall.

reply

They have Black and white Santas at malls? Isn't that confusing for the kids? What do they say? That Santa can magically change his skin-tone whenever he wants?

reply

IT'S A BIG WORLD AND WE HAVE MULTIPLE SANTAS...THEY ALL HELP EACH OTHER OUT.

reply

No need for the apostrophe in 'SANTA's'.

Also, I thought Santa was supposed to be one specific individual, not a multitude of individuals.

reply

SANTA HAS MANY HELPERS...ASSOCIATE SANTAS IF YOU WILL.

reply

Santa's helpers are the *elves*.

reply

"I suppose I'd just tell the kids, these are 'imposters' who work for Santa"

YOU SAID THAT...THAT IS THE ANSWER...WHY ARE YOU PURPOSELY OBTUSE?

reply

That Santa can magically change his skin-tone whenever he wants?

Santa is literally delivering billions of presents to young kids over the course of one night!

Magically changing his skin tone is small potatoes by comparison...

reply

They usually there at the same time, set up in different sections, so I don’t think that explanation would work.

I also noticed that wherever they sell Santa and Mrs Clause figures, they sell white and black ones.

I assume there must be some parents that tell their kids that Santa is actually black, but I never really looked in to it.

reply

Unless they're right next to each other, I suppose they could still be the 'same Santa' even if they're at different parts of the same mall. They just teleport. 🤷‍♂️

I suppose I'd just tell the kids, these are 'imposters' who work for Santa (I doubt most kids over the age of, say, five, are so stupid that they can't recognise that two separate Santas are in fact different people, irrespective of whether they're of the same skin colour; the beard and the padding don't do *that* much work). Unlike Megyn Kelly, I don't care if the kids want to believe Santa is Black, white, Asian or whatever.

reply

My children were 7 and 8 when they figured out Santa was probably not real. When they asked me, I told them about the real Saint Nicholas who lived over a 1000 years ago and how that became Santa Claus. I went on to explain that the Santas they saw were his helpers and the gifts were from their mom and I. It made sense to them and they were satisfied with what I said.

Seeing two difference kinds of Ariel will not tramitize them.

reply

Well the characters meet and greets are usually based on the cartoon version so I think they will keep the classic Ariel.

reply

Disney will for sure replace the actress of Ariel latest in the month of release of this movie by an actresses looking similar to Halle Bailey. The question is more what will happen in one year, especially if the movie is succesful. Will we have then two actresses switching? Will the new version completly replace the old version? Will they have different attractions attached to each version?

reply

🤣

reply

Easy, it'll always be the cartoon version because Disney is only remaking all of their animated movies to renew and retain their copyrights. So expect them all to be total shit while they pay their bare-minimum every few decades to maintain their legal protection status.

They’ll add a black version and confuse the hell out of all the guests.

She'll have a big butt, three-inch nails, and she'll do that neck-rolling thing.
