Black Ariel Makes Perfect Sense (spoilers)

There were seven sisters who represent the seven seas. Each daughter represents a different sea around the world, therefore they were all racially diverse like their regions. The regions are fictitious, but are loosely based on reality.

Ariel represents the "Caribbean" region and the film takes place there.

reply

Then why doesn’t Ariel have a Caribbean accent? Also it looks like a mop on her head, this is a huge plot hole.

reply

HOW DO PICK UP A CARIBBEAN ACCENT FROM UNDER THE SEA?

reply

Ariel constantly pops her head out of the water and eavesdrops on the humans, it makes zero sense that her father is of Spaniard descent.

reply

LMAO...NO.

reply

No less sense than if he were a WASP.

reply

HOW DO PICK UP A CARIBBEAN ACCENT FROM UNDER THE SEA?

The same way Sebastian did.

reply

OH!...FROM THE ANIMATORS.

reply

Actually both versions of the movie use an American actor faking an accent for the part. So it’s very much intentional.

reply

That's a stupid question. Accents aren't genetic. They're acquired from family and other people around you.

reply

This is wrong. Babies are born speaking with a Caribbean accent. If you don’t believe me, look up the article on Wikipedia about David Duchovny.

reply

David doesn't have a Carribbean accent.

BTW, crabs don't talk at all.

reply

This is also wrong.

reply

You believe in talking crabs with Carribbean accents?

reply

I absolutely do, because I’ve seen them.

reply

That's strong weed you've been smoking!

reply

The only benefit of living in California is the strong weed, lemme tell ya.

reply

Strong weed stinks.

reply

That’s why you eat it instead of smoke it.

reply

The indigenous peoples of the Caribbean included the Taíno of the northern Lesser Antilles, most of the Greater Antilles and the Bahamas, the Kalinago of the Lesser Antilles, the Ciguayo and Macorix of parts of Hispaniola, and the Guanahatabey of western Cuba.

Blacks are not indigenous to the Caribbean.

reply

Bravo!

reply

Hopely Keelai will respond. ;-)

reply

Ouch! Reality hurts!

reply

"Caribbean" in quotes. Ariel represents the Carinae Sea which is mythological = doesn't exist. FYI, neither do mermaids.

1880s Carinae demographics: racially-mixed black, white & Indigenous Carinae peoples. No slavery. No racism.

1880s demographics also applies to her sister, Perla who represents the Piton Sea (South America). She is Hispanic, Indigenous and white.

Seriously MCguy, this fantasy movie is targeted toward 7-year-old little girls who only want to watch a pretty mermaid princess fall in love with a handsome prince and live happily ever after.

I'm not on your Marvel boards tearing apart your fantasy stories about men flying around without wings, becoming demi-Spider or becoming muscular and green when they become angry. Let the little girls have their fantasy stories in peace and I won't wander on the superhero boards mocking how infantile all the incel, manbabies are for watching dopey kiddie films at their age.

reply

You're right. that all makes sense.

reply

thank you, and well said

some of these people take it way too seriously, when ultimately it's a little girl's fairytale.

I don't understand the uproar of whiners around this movie at all

reply

Because you have “zero” standards, that’s why. I bet you never even watched the movie, did ya.

reply

no I didn't, because I'm not an 8 year old girl so it doesn't appeal to me at all.

honestly if it weren't for all the race obsessed crybabies whining about it I'd never have even heard of it, it's not the kind of film that typically winds up on my radar at all.

unfortunately though it's constantly on the front page because of whiney pedophiles like you being so into it

reply

So you’re an ignorant moron who has no idea what he’s talking about, got it.

reply

Just a quick look at your past replies shows a long history of your starting trouble, trolling MC posters and making racist comments. Seek help!

reply

Your shtick of defending movies with wokeness and forced diversity has gotten tiresome.

Judging by your 30,000 posts you’re probably on welfare and jealous of the white man. That would explain your pathetic behavior around these parts.

reply

Your shtick of attacking movies with diversity is tiresome.

Judging by your 30,000 sock accounts you’re probably on welfare and you're a bitter misanthrope. That would explain your pathetic behavior around these parts.

reply

"I know you are but what am I"

reply

that might make some sense if I was commenting on the content of the film, rather than on the horde of fools crying over the casting choice.

but I shouldn't be surprised when someone as idiotic as you misses the obvious I guess. simply being able to type a response is probably pushing your mental capacity to the max, having that response make sense is obviously totally out of reach

reply

Says the idiot who’s hanging around a message board for a film he hasn’t even watched lol.

Your panties are all twisted because 8 year old girls don’t like a movie with a black mermaid. Does this keep you awake at night?

reply

hanging around? did it ever occur to your teeny tiny brain that maybe it popped up on the front page and I didn't search for it? just more proof that you're incapable of any real thought or reasoning

the only good things about people as dumb as you is that you aren't capable of subtlety, so it makes it really easy to add you to the ignore list so thankfully I won't have to read your piss poor attempts at wit anymore

unfortunately there are so many low iq morons here just like you it's a full time job just to block them all out

reply

Triton is what every man's man aspires to. Getting tail all around the globe.
