I don't think that they hate it per say. You have to imagine that this specific issue that the film highlights is something that the left has been, for the last several years, swearing up and down is only a conspiracy theory and even going as far as ending friendships/relationships with people for talking about the issue and/or trying to bring discussion to the issue. So for a film to be released that shows the reality of this issue, it breaks their worldview and in a sense forces them to re-evaluate what they've been thinking/how they've been treating so called "conspiracy theorists" for the last several years.
They've essentially been calling people conspiracy theorists and being hateful towards others who wanted to bring attention to this, and the release of this film indirectly proves that they've been brainwashed into defending slavery for the last several years. Obviously if you've been brainwashed into defending this type of slavery or swearing that it's all just a big conspiracy theory, you'd probably hate this film too. Not because of what it exposes, but because it shows what you've been defending all these years, and it makes you look bad for doing so.
Some people on the left are still in denial that they've essentially been abiding in allowing this slavery to continue by shutting down anyone trying to bring discussion to it, and therefor this movie's release is somewhat of a crossroads for them morally.
It's mere existence forces them to either double down and continue shutting down discussion of it (and in turn continue to defend modern slavery), or admit they were wrong for the last 6 years. It's a lose-lose situation for them because the only option that allows them to hold the "moral high ground" is admitting they were wrong which can be hard to do for some. That's why they hate it.
They don't. It has a 99% Rotten Tomatoes which is supposedly a "Liberal shill site". That and letterboxd has it high as well. I'm guessing you didn't even read any of the critiques either. Just the headlines as usual.

shareHere is the issue with the Sound of Freedom movie. It's not about its subject or the Nobel cause it represents, it’s the logic and beliefs that drive the narrative ‘logic’ AROUND the movie.
