They enslaved and murdered hundreds of thousands from other tribes and sold them into the slave trade.

Do you think the movie will touch upon the Dahomey tribe killing, enslaving, and selling thousand of people from neighboring tribes, or will this be strictly be "Strong Black Woman" puff piece?

reply

rhetorical question, right?

reply

nope, really curious if it will be touched upon.

reply

I doubt it, as slavery and kidnapping is still prevalent in most African Countries.

reply

I was told only white people were slave traders.🤔

reply

We're not supposed to mention that.

reply

It will be revisionist just like the farcical rewrite of slaver Cristobal Colombo

reply

You know they wont. Its woke Hollywood. They will probably claim that it was evil whites that enslaved blacks and that tribe were fighting those whites to free fellow blacks )))) Despite that tribe working with white slave traders and catching and selling their own people for money.

reply

Are you going to watch it to find out yourself? One reviewer says it does address the Dahomey slave trade.

reply

I know woke Hollywood.

reply

I think your words here prove that you come to conclusions without evidence.

reply

It might not be a puff piece. It does address Dahomey involvement with the African slave trade.

Being part of the Agojie promises freedom to all involved, but not to those they conquer. The defeated are offered as tribute to the draconian Oyo Empire, who then deal their fellow Africans as slaves to Europeans in exchange for guns.

a) find a black female figure in the past

b) obfuscate the facts, reinvent her

c) present her as a superior hero

This is the recipe for such a figure because this is what is necessary to produce it.
