Not fake ones.
That's taking method acting too far. Stoopid. You never even really see them until the torture scene and even then they're covered in blood and a shaky cam.

Yeah, I understand if he was shirtless for a large part of the film, but no. Also his character was supposed to be a badass and there weren't any scenes like that.
