I thought the first episode was…

Kinda meh. Didn’t we already know that the variant that was killing the tva enforcers was another Loki variant? I was not surprised by that at all. 5/10

reply

How did you know that? I did not expect that to be the case at all.

reply

I guess I was watching all the spots…

reply

Oh, okay. I thought something in the show itself hinted at it, but I was caught by surprise. I don't think I saw but one commercial for the series, and that one did not mention who his adversary was, or even that he'd had one. I got the feeling he was going to be imprisoned by the TVA, and forced to work off his sentence with a series of unrelated missions. Now, after watching the first episode, it seems he'll spend the season tracking another version of himself, which is much cooler.

reply

Yeah I agree. He can sorta redeem himself.

reply

it was more than obvious

reply

What clues did you pick up on leading to the revelation?

reply

The trailers.

reply

Oh, okay. I didn't see any trailers that mentioned that, so it caught me by surprise. I thought you were saying it was obvious from watching the show that things were headed in that direction.

reply

That's why i don't watch trailers anymore.

reply

I have to remember to not read these fucking posts before watching the show.

Or, wild idea, giving that you are talking about a twist in a plot, you could add something like ... I don't know ... SPOILER to your title???

reply

I have to remember to not read these fucking posts before watching the show.
You were off to such a good start with this statement, then you followed it up with some stupid self centered shit. If you haven't seen it and don't want to know, don't go to message board page filled with people discussing the show!

reply

Or maybe posting spoilers without a warning before most people had the chance to see it's stupid and self centered shit ...

I come to this board to read people's opinions, not for some jerk to spoil the action without a warning.

The problem is NOT the spoiler, the problem is the lack of a warning. Guess what: if i would have known the post would had been a huge spoiler I wouldn't had read this post.

There is always a middle ground and a way to not be self centered, and in this case is: WARNING.

Probably you don't signal when you take a corner with your car either and call the one that crashes into you because of that "self centered" as well ...

reply

I kinda didn’t think It was a spoiler. To me it was obvious. But I do apologize for my lack of consideration.

reply

No problem, it happens.

And funny thing: I'm an old guy and kinda forgot what was the spoiler. haha (kidding).

To me it was not obvious but expected.

reply

I’m an old guy too. Lol. Probably why I did what I did.

reply

What if its not loki and they think its loki?

reply

Since that kid pointed at the mosaic window it must be Mephisto.

reply

That would be more interesting.

reply

I thought it was pretty good, an 8/10 from me.

reply

I give it 7 or 7.5 out of ten so far! I'm in!

Sure, much of the episode was exposition, establishing the TVA and the conflicts the series will explore, but they made all that exposition fun. Fast, funny, good work from Hiddleston and Owens, Loki given an opponent worthy of his steel. Definitely watching the whole shebang.

reply

I thought the same, it was a setup episode and it did quite well setting up the TVA and the whole new Marvel timeline.
Loki came out looking good in the end. Too little in the way of sex scenes but it’s still early.

reply

Well, the whole Marvel thing has been very short on sex scenes, to say the least, and Loki is the last Marvel character I'd expect to break that trend.

reply

I give it a 7/10. It dragged in places but they needed a lot of exposition to set the the plot in motion. I liked the retro aesthetic of TVA. It was noticeable that almost all of the supporting actors were minorities which seemed deliberate.
