Pulled from movie theaters.

They claim it was due to COVID but I think it's more likely they realized an Indian Sir Gawain was not going to go over very well after the epic failure of black Anne Boelyn.

reply

Nonsense. Anne Boleyn was a TV series nobody watched in the UK.

reply

And The Green Knight is a brownwash movie everybody in the UK would have mocked and compared to the blackwash Anne Boelyn show, which is why they decided not to show it in UK theaters. They couldn't come out and say that, though, so they blamed COVID.

reply

Was there a black Anne Boelyn?

I don't like miscasting, but then I didn't even like that they cast Ricardo Montalban as a Japanese criminal in "Hawai'i Five-O".

reply

Ricardo played many, many ethnicities throughout his career. In his case, I don't care because he was so frigging cool in every performance I saw, Tho, Ricardo playing Japanese was probably a bridge too far.

UK theaters were closed late July when you made your post. You are an idiot!

Um... Hate to tell you this, but the article I linked says The Green Knight was due to be released in England on August 6th, not late July. Why would they have even bothered to write the article otherwise?

Quote from article: "The Green Knight, A24’s much anticipated Arthurian epic fantasy film starring Dev Patel, will not be hitting theaters in the UK on August 6 as originally planned."

Heh. Looks like you are still the idiot. And quite a big one.
