What's with this recent trend of horrible movies being seen as good?

Doctor Sleep, The Invisible Man, The Night House. . . All films that received CRITICAL ACCLAIM yet WERE REALLY BAD. These films got 86%, all the way up to 93% on RT! You know, RT, that strict website that gives some of the BEST MOVIES 60 percent ratings. Yet somehow those three awful movies get in the upper 80s and 90s?

These movies I mentioned weren't just overrated. They were full on bad movies. And they received amazing reviews. What gives? Are the film critics these days just horrible???

I LIKED THE INVISIBLE MAN...I LOVED DOCTOR SLEEP...I HAVE NOT SEEN THE NIGHT HOUSE YET.

Because women love movies where the protagonist is female and the bad guy is an ex lover. At least in the case of Invisible Man and Night House.

i re-watched the night house over the weekend and came away with my appreciation for it increased, and i liked it a lot when i saw it in the theatre.

if you don't dig it, that's a-ok. you are entitled to your preferences.

but this is a movie chock-full of great qualities.

interesting story.
great acting.
sad, creepy tone.
some really effective moments that play like dream-pareidolia.

if it was just a little more frightening & maybe ended a little more effectively, i'd call it a new horror classic.

I watched it last night and liked it. Why didn't you? 'Full on bad' is a rather harsh opinion.
