I think she really lost some of her vibrancy and a range of facial expressions because of all her cosmetic surgery, compare to her appearances in 'Far and Away' or even the 'Vietnam' series. A pity. To me, his consort, "Usami Fuji" would have made the better Mariko to be honest. Natural Asian beauty and most matching the mesmerizing aura of the 1980's "Mariko". While Anna Sawai who played Mariko would have made a great consort with all the pain and hate she displayed so greatly (but somewhat misleadingly) in Mariko's role. It is quite accurately based on the original story from around 1980. Mariko was a samourai in the story, very capable to defend herself. It has nothing to do with the woke agenda in this extraordinary case. But be assured it will be different in the supposedly announced S2+S3.... Prepare for nonbinary LGBTQ Samourais and 'colored', formerly oppressed Japanese natives turning heroes! answering myself: "The miniseries is approximately 360 minutes long. In the US the show first aired on the Sundance Channel divided into 7 untitled episodes (of variable length between 49 and 53 mins each); in the UK and new Zealand, the show aired as 6 one-hour episodes. The titles of the UK episodes are: 1.1 Paradise Sold 1.2 Searchers Search 1.3 The Edge of the Universe 1.4 A Rainbow Above Us 1.5 The Dark Creator 1.6 No Goodbyes Thanks" I didn't consider the kid as too annoying, I just couldn't figure out it's sex? But maybe that's the future - gender neutral / asexual movie actors, besides the obligatory 'non-white' actor, to make sure they can still receive awards and get funding. Crazy times. you mean liberals, not libertarians Wouldn't that have to be added to Breaking Bad then, as it is past Better Call Saul in the timeline? :) Netflix has been completely hijacked by SJW warriors now. Nothing interesting will come from there anymore unfortunately… For them, being 'provokative' now means trying to sell transsexualism, gender identity or pedophile stuff to us (see "Cuties", "Owl House" etc.) I have to agree. 'The Good Wife' at least had some ongoing story line, while 'The Good Fight' didn't even manage to make something out of the 'black lawyer's company' idea or Diane's struggle to recover financially, or to develop anything interesting between the characters (the only one worth mentioning being the complex relationship between 'Lucca' and her bf, but even that was quickly turned into a punch line driven comedy). What we got in excess though was the stereotypical 'between the lines' indoctrination on how bad and ridiculous Trump is according to the writers, to an almost embarrassing extent like around the 'pee tapes' or displaying a life-sized naked photo of the 1st lady in the episodes of Season 2. It almost reminded me of propaganda, as right-in-the-face it sometimes was. I don't watch a TV show to get patronized on what a horrible person Trump is. Stop the virtue signalling and political indoctrination, Hollywood, leave us alone and treat us like adults! Give us well thought-through stories, use hints at real-world personalities very carefully, and don't turn adult drama series into afternoon comedy series. Please. After I read that S3 goes on like that, I will exit after S2. S1 was still okay, but sometimes it's better to let go and give it a good and conclusive ending. good and interesting take - and really valid points of view. Thanks for your feedback! ;) I fully agree, I was fascinated by the 'Chuck vs Bobbie' conflict and moral dilemmas, power/money conflicts, and out of a sudden this somewhat uninteresting and shallow 'Taylor' character pops up and hijacks the airtime. They should let her go and continue without her - if it's not too late for the show already. "should" 'Them' is a term used for a multiple of things. Unless she's suffering from dissociative disorder or 'multiple personality disorder', I will keep to call her 'she', as she has breasts and definitely looks more like a woman than a man. I agree. Wish Hollywood would finally stop to try to patronize the audience with what they consider as 'sexual freedom' - what will be next, Bruce Jenner as Mother Teresa? The moon landing with only female characters? After Superman which was followed by 'Superwoman', next 'Super-non-binary'? America goes nuts. It's also borderline ridiculous and outerworldly to have everyone attributing Taylor as 'THEY', just as if it would be the most normal thing in the world to have an androgynous person in a team and automatically call 'it' (?) 'they'?! No one would do that in the real world out there. Also it is kinda boring to have this robotic, emotionless voice and mimics regardless of what's happening around or with her. This character is seriously disturbed, but everyone is treating her like 'highly intelligent, but otherwise completely normal'. This show would become more intrigueing again without this odd character that only seems to exist to deliver a patronizing message to the audience. Do you basically dislike ANY of the main topics of this show, politics and the main character's neurological disease, plus the relation of sex and power. Why did you even begin watching it at all, it's not too hard to figure all of that out from the storyline in the show's description?! lol I agree with the title song though ... a title song can indeed create a certain emotion that helps to get in the right mood for the show, the one of "Bosch" TV series for example. yeah, it's a real pity. This show is somewhere between 'The Wire' and 'House of Cards', fantastic concept and it would have been too interesting to see how things would be wrapped up in a final Third Season!!! why? Please enlighten us. I'll keep my tinfoil hat ready. Sorry having to confront you, but in fact you indeed *are* prude! And you also seem to look down on black people (I'm not one and am not related to one, so don't think I feel I have to defend them), but ranting about an actor's (!) nose and then saying it's a 'drug dealing nose' is not only primitive but also utterly disparaging and gives an insight of your negative preconceptions about the world we live in.
