Fauci was NOT lying when he said that government wasn't funding gain of function in Wuhan.

Fauci was using a definition of gain of function that's more specific than the one that official used a day or two ago that all the right wing propaganda outlets seem to be making a lot out of.

He was using a more general definition of "gain of function", though. He should have spoken more clearly, but then, I doubt it would matter to those alt right grifting grifters.

Fauci did nothing wrong. He's never going to prison, at least not for anything connected to Covid.

It's mostly individual donors and corporations that fund PBS. Less than 15% comes from governments (local and federal). You're the type that keeps this website from getting more viewers--cite your "fact" before checking to see if it's true, or only partly true. Have you ever thought of doing that?

This kind of reminds me of the Norm Macdonald bit about complaints that it was Bill Cosby's hypocrisy that was the worst part of his tale. As Norm said, "I think the worst part would be the raping. After I pointed out that Norm died, he went back and erased half the post and changed "is" to "was".

The US government should not be in teh business of handing out tax payer money to labs in Red China.

The reason the funded lab is in Wuhan is because that is a place where virulent respiratory diseases often arise because of things like bat populations close to very dense urban area. It is a sentinel point. A lot of the work they did there cannot be done here.

Corner cutting goes on everywhere. But I remember when a Chinese company was caught diluting baby formula and adding methylamine which made it seem like it had higher protein content and the heads of the company were all executed within a week.
