As Donald Trump increasingly infuses his campaign with Christian trappings while coasting to a third Republican presidential nomination, his support is as strong as ever among evangelicals and other conservative Christians.

“Trump supports Jesus, and without Jesus, America will fall,” said Kimberly Vaughn of Florence, Kentucky, as she joined other supporters of the former president entering a campaign rally near Dayton, Ohio.

Many of the T-shirts and hats that were worn and sold at the rally in March proclaimed religious slogans such as “Jesus is my savior, Trump is my president” and “God, Guns & Trump.” One man’s shirt declared, “Make America Godly Again,” with the image of a luminous Jesus putting his supportive hands on Trump’s shoulders.

Many attendees said in interviews they believed Trump shared their Christian faith and values. Several cited their opposition to abortion and LGBTQ+ rights, particularly to transgender expressions.

Nobody voiced concern about Trump’s past conduct or his present indictments on criminal charges, including allegations that he tried to hide hush money payments to a porn actor during his 2016 campaign. Supporters saw Trump as representing a religion of second chances.

Trump is a known athiest but he pretended to be a Christian during his presidential campaigns so religious suckers would vote for him. Apparently it worked. So many stupid people worshiping Trump.

That never happened and that diary didn't belong to her. It is just a forgery and it's been debunked. If true why hasn't any charges been filed against President Biden.

It's funny. I used Snopes as proof of something else and your buddies here screamed fake news. It's funny how that works.

I'm a US Army veteran and Trump disgusts me and makes me want to vomit. Most veterans I know feel the same way. Trump disrespected gold star families, called fallen military losers and suckers, disrespected McCain by saying he likes people who weren't captured, refused to honor American veterans at a memorial in France because Trump didn't want to mess up his hair, etc. Without support from the military and veterans Trump has no chance to be reelected.

1. "Shares" is a nicely vague term. I don't think anyone thinks Trump is a man of deep personal faith. THe article is making a mountain out of a molehill. I think what the religious people are really picking up on, is that Trump is wiling to be on their SIDE, as opposed to Biden, who represents a very hostile...political establishment that wants relgious conservative people to be permenently marginalized in society and politics.

Snopes was originally the Urban Legend database until 2016. It was actually a very cool website back then and it was fun reading about all the old and new urban legends and non-political conspiracy theories like New Coke switch and stuff like that.

In 2016, they jumped on this fack-checking nonsense and were caught several times editing their information in real-time which got them labeled as a Fake News site. They kinda killed their own credibility a long time ago.
