Movies that gave you nightmares.

The Accused 1988. They made us watch this freshman year of college for a womens study class. I had to walk out and the teacher came out to ask, are you ok. No, I just turned 18 and your making us watch bar rape scenes.

Movies don't give me nightmares that's the Illuminati's job. But there was a TV movie called 'Trilogy of Terror' (1975) starring Karen Black. One of the stories was about a little homicidal voodoo doll that came to life. Creepy and scary.

Wow, talk about obscure! I used to see that on TV when I was a kid. I can't remember the last time I heard it referenced.

I saw The Exorcist when I was very young so I think I am immune to movies giving me nightmares.

reply

I think it was a girl thing but I still can't watch that movie.

reply

Not to make light of this after reading your post (what you wrote about is enough to give somebody nightmares), but for me it was Rocky IV when I was little. I had a nightmare about Ivan Drago chasing me with his boxing gloves on.

reply

What a Freudian analysist would make of that one...

reply

I don't think there was anything bad about it. I was just scared of Ivan Drago was all. And he was kind of like a monster anyways.

reply

wow but why that movie what bugged you?

reply

Because I was like 4 or 5 years old and the guy looked like a freaking monster.

I watched this movie like 5 times after i saw it in 2000. My husband said but all you care about is the last 20 minutes. He may be right. The exorcist last 50 minutes nothing can beat it. Nothing!

I was traumatized watching "The Crawling Hand" when I was a kid. For years, I literally slept with my hands guarding my throat and my blankets pulled up above my neck for fear that a dismembered hand would strangle me in my sleep.

reply

" Not the Craw !!! "

reply

An episode from the old tv show Night Gallery called “The Doll” had that effect on me as a kid.
