THE BOOK AND FILM ARE PRETTY DAMN EQUAL.

reply

Thanks, glad to hear it. That's actually pretty unusual.
Hey didn't someone do a remake of it a few years back? Seems to me it tanked hard at the boxoffice.

Mostly Harmless

Ooops! That's five.

😎

reply

It's ok, the answer was 42 all along.

reply

Forty two??!!

I told you that you weren't going to like it.

😎

reply

I like Norway's "lovely crinkly edges".

reply

Slartibartfast??!!

I told you it wasn't important.

😎

reply

Is Mostly Harmless written by the same author?

reply

Yes. They were all written by Douglas Adams. He was a literary genius imho.

The five books were all part of the "increasingly ill named Hitchhikers trilogy", as Douglas Adams described them. They are undoubtedly the finest humorous Sci-Fi "trilogy" in history.

😎

reply

I am in full agreement.

reply

Then you sir, are obviously a gentleman and a scholar.

😎

reply

I truly appreciate those compliments. But, um, you don't really know me, do ya? lol ;)

😎

reply

Does anyone on an anonymous chat board really know anyone else on that board?

😳

reply

If you rip out a big fart in the woods and nobody giggles do ya really get to enjoy it?
On the other hand, if someone does giggle when you thought you were alone...

reply

Dunno. Odd question.

😎

reply

Ah c'mon, that was funny. And I made it up on the fly, too ;)

reply

We're talking Jeff Goldblum movies now???

😎

reply

Okay that's a good one ;)

reply

😎

reply

Man do I fake it!!

reply

Ummmm............okay then.

😳

reply

I'm sorry. Allow me to make amends...

Thank you so much for your recognition, sir. It truly takes one to know one.

Please let your little guy have his shades back...

reply

You're welcome, and done! He says thanks.

😎

reply

Hell yeah

reply

reply

I just spent, like, two minutes trying to find the one that was different lol!

reply

LOL! Now THAT was funny!

😎

PS It's the sixth one from the left.

reply

Found it! There's a half millimeter difference in the glare off the left lens.
That was tricky.

reply

Yes it was! Whew!

😎

reply

Didn't you think it was a bit odd that I was trying to make friends with a car?

reply

Wait.....what......Huh?

😳

reply

Mos Def was awesome, was he not?!

reply

He, like the movie, was just okay. Still wondering about your car remark.

😎

reply

That's one of Ford's lines from the movie.

reply

Mmmm. Don't remember that line. What was it in reference to?

😎

reply

They were talking about the first time they met. Ford was standing in the street with a bouquet of flowers trying to shake hands with an oncoming car! Ha!
Arthur had to tackle him out of the street so he wouldn't get rundown. Funny stuff 😅

reply

Hmmmm. Don't remember that scene.

😎

reply

I believe that they were sitting in the pub. Arthur was struggling to finish the six (?) pints Ford ordered for him. I think.
The barman asked if they should all lie down and put bags over their heads (WTF?).

reply

Okay then.

😎

reply

The WTF wasn't about you. Looking back it kinda looks that way.
Nah it was for the barman asking about the bag over the head.
Maybe it's a UK thing?
Sorry if it seemed that way lol 😅
These last few posts it sure looks like I've been trying real hard to cram my leg in my throat! 😯

reply

I knew you were referring to the barman. That was my rather cryptic way of saying
I don't remember that remark. It's all good. I enjoyed the movie even though I've forgotten some of the details.

😎

PS Oops! I see by my cool digital watch that it's time for lunch!

reply

It's so hard to get an entire communique over a text. Enjoy your lunch ;)

reply

Thanks, I did. I'm back now, and for some strange reason, I think I'm a sofa.
