It has its moments, but it remains a vastly inferior movie when compared with The Motion Picture.
Well, okay. To each their own. I thought it was the best of the franchise. The rest of them are pretty suckful. Except for STG: First Contact. That was another good one.

I'm honestly surprised to see you list Jaws. I know 3 and 4 are awful, but I thought part 2 was considered one of the better sequels out there.
shareI enjoy 2 as well, not as much as Jaws which is a classic.
Jaws 3-D I've only seen once and it was terrible, I watched it on TV but I doubt 3-D glasses would have helped, and with Jaws: The Revenge I'm in the same boat as Michael Caine, neither of us watched it!
3-4 were trash, but I did like 2.
